王便下令把但以理带来扔进狮子坑。他对但以理说：“愿你忠心事奉的上帝拯救你！”

王遂命人以但以理攜至、投之獅穴、告但以理曰、爾所恆事之天主、必必或作願其救爾、

So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel,“ May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”

耶和华拯救义人，患难时作他们的庇护所。耶和华帮助他们，拯救他们脱离恶人，因为他们投靠祂。

六次遭难，祂都救你；第七次，灾祸也伤不到你。

耶和华说：“因为他爱我，我必拯救他；因为他信靠我的名，我必保护他。他求告我，我就答应他；他遭遇患难，我必与他同在。我必拯救他，赐他尊贵的地位。我必赐他长寿，并让他看见我的拯救之恩。”

你穿越洪涛，我必与你同在；你渡过江河，必不会被水淹没；你在火中走过，必不会被烧伤，火焰不会烧到你身上。

尼布甲尼撒说：“沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌的上帝当受称颂！祂差遣天使拯救那些信靠祂的仆人。他们无视王命，宁肯死也不供奉、祭拜其他神明。

今天我虽然是耶和华所膏立的王，但仍势单力薄，无法对付洗鲁雅的两个儿子，愿耶和华报应他们的恶行。”

王啊，我们若真被扔进烈焰熊熊的火窑，我们所事奉的上帝必能救我们脱离火窑，祂必从你手中救我们。

到了坑边，凄声呼喊但以理：“永活上帝的仆人但以理啊，你忠心事奉的上帝有没有救你脱离狮子的口？”

投靠耶和华胜过倚靠人。投靠耶和华胜过倚靠权贵。

惧怕人的必自陷网罗，信靠耶和华的必安稳。

如果我做错了，犯了该死的罪，我决不逃避！但他们对我的指控毫无根据，谁也不能把我交给他们。我要向凯撒上诉！”

现在你们准备好，一听见角、笛、弦琴、竖琴、瑟、笙等各种乐器的声音，就要叩拜我造的像。不然，必立刻将你们扔进烈焰熊熊的火窑。那时什么神明能从我手中救你们呢？”

过了两年，波求·非斯都接任总督，腓利斯为了讨好犹太人，仍然把保罗留在监里。

彼拉多问：“为什么？祂犯了什么罪？”他们却更大声地喊叫：“把祂钉在十字架上！”彼拉多见再说也无济于事，反而会引起骚乱，于是拿了一盆水来，在众人面前洗手，说：“流这义人的血，罪不在我，你们自己负责。”众人都说：“流祂血的责任由我们和我们的子孙承担！”于是，彼拉多为他们释放了巴拉巴，下令将耶稣鞭打后，带出去钉十字架。

西底迦王说：“你们可以随意处置他，我不会阻止你们。”

她马上回去对王说：“愿王立刻把施洗者约翰的头放在盘子里送给我。”王听了这个请求，感到十分为难，但因为在众宾客面前起了誓，就不好拒绝。他立刻命令卫兵进监牢砍了约翰的头，放在盘子里送给这女子，她又转送给她母亲。

非斯都为了讨好犹太人，就对保罗说：“你是否愿意回耶路撒冷接受我的审讯？”

掌权者不是叫行善的惧怕，而是叫作恶的惧怕。你想不怕掌权的吗？就要行得正，这样你会得到称赞。

她受了母亲的指使，说：“请把施洗者约翰的头放在盘子里送给我。”希律感到为难，但既然在众宾客面前起了誓，只好下令给她。他派人到监里砍了约翰的头，

彼拉多问：“为什么？祂犯了什么罪？”他们却更大声地喊：“把祂钉在十字架上！”为了取悦众人，彼拉多释放了巴拉巴，命人将耶稣鞭打后带出去钉十字架。

所有总长、行政官、总督、谋士和省长都认为王应该下一道禁令，三十天内，任何人不得向王以外的神明或人祷告，违者必被扔进狮子坑。

从那时起，彼拉多想要释放耶稣，可是犹太人却一直喊叫：“如果你释放这个人，你就不是凯撒的忠臣。凡自以为王的，就是背叛凯撒。”彼拉多听了这话，就带着耶稣来到一个地方，名叫“铺石地”，那地方希伯来话叫厄巴大。彼拉多在那里开庭审判祂。那天正是逾越节的预备日，大约在中午十二时，彼拉多对犹太人说：“看啊！你们的王。”众人喊道：“除掉祂！除掉祂！把祂钉在十字架上！”彼拉多说：“我可以把你们的王钉在十字架上吗？”祭司长答道：“除了凯撒，我们没有别的王！”于是，彼拉多将耶稣交给他们去钉十字架，他们就把耶稣带走了。

至于我，我已落在你们手中，你们认为怎样好就怎样待我吧！

因为昨天晚上，我所归属、所事奉的上帝差遣天使站在我身旁，对我说，‘保罗，不用怕，你一定会站在凯撒面前，上帝也会保全所有和你同船的人。’
