因神所賜給他的權勢，各國、各族和說各種語言的人，都在他面前戰兢恐懼；他要殺誰，就殺誰；要誰活著，誰就可以活著；要提升誰，就提升誰；要貶低誰，就貶低誰。

因神所赐他的大权，各方、各国、各族的人都在他面前战兢恐惧。他可以随意生杀，随意升降。

因上帝所赐给他的大权，各方、各国、各族的人都在他面前恐惧战兢，因他要杀就杀，要人活就活，要升就升，要降就降。

因其威儀、億兆族姓、戰慄於前、生殺昇降、皆出王衷、

因天主賜之威權、各民、各國、各族、戰慄恐懼於其前、彼隨意生殺、隨意升降、

Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled.

God gave him a high position. Then people from every nation became afraid of the king. That was true no matter what language they spoke. The king put to death anyone he wanted to. He spared anyone he wanted to spare. He gave high positions to anyone he wanted to. And he brought down anyone he wanted to bring down.

And because of the greatness that he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whom he would, he killed, and whom he would, he kept alive; whom he would, he raised up, and whom he would, he humbled.

He made him so great that people of all races and nations and languages trembled before him in fear. He killed those he wanted to kill and spared those he wanted to spare. He honored those he wanted to honor and disgraced those he wanted to disgrace.

Because of the greatness he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages were terrified and fearful of him. He killed anyone he wanted and kept alive anyone he wanted; he exalted anyone he wanted and humbled anyone he wanted.

Now because of the greatness which He granted him, all the peoples, nations, and populations of all languages trembled and feared in his presence; whomever he wished, he killed, and whomever he wished, he spared alive; and whomever he wished he elevated, and whomever he wished he humbled.

And because of the majesty that He gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he kept alive; whomever he wished, he set up; and whomever he wished, he put down.

凡不俯伏下拜的，就必立刻扔在烈火的窰中。”

因此，王大發烈怒，下令殺絕巴比倫所有的智慧人。於是王的御旨發出，要把智慧人都殺死；人就尋找但以理和他的同伴，要殺死他們。

那時，傳令官大聲呼叫說：“各國、各族、說各種語言的人哪！這是傳給你們的命令：

又吩咐他軍隊中幾個最精壯的士兵，把沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌綁起來，扔在烈火的窰中。於是這三個人穿著外袍、長褲、頭巾和身上其他的衣服，被綁起來，扔在烈火的窯中。

我現在下令：無論各國、各族、說各種語言的人，凡說話得罪沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌的神的，必被碎屍萬段，他的家也必成為廢墟，因為沒有別的神能這樣施行拯救。”

君王的烈怒好像死亡的使者，唯有智慧人能平息君王的怒氣。

看哪！我要打發人去徵召北方的眾族，和我的僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，領他們來攻擊這地和這地的居民，以及周圍的列國；我要把他們徹底消滅，使他們成為令人驚駭，受人嗤笑的對象，和永遠荒廢的地方。”這是耶和華的宣告。“我要從他們中間除掉歡喜和快樂的聲音，新郎和新婦的聲音，推磨的聲音和燈的亮光。這地要全變為荒廢，令人驚駭；這些國家要服事巴比倫王七十年。“七十年滿了以後，我要按著他們的罪孽懲罰巴比倫王和那國，就是迦勒底人之地，使它永遠荒涼。”這是耶和華的宣告。“我必使我所說攻擊那地的一切話應驗在那地；我所說的，就是一切記錄在這書上的，是耶利米攻擊列國所說的預言。因為許多國家和大君王將要奴役迦勒底人，我必按著他們的作為和他們手所作的報應他們。”

財富（傳統作“酒”，今照死海古卷譯作“財富”）使人奸詐狂傲，不得安寧；擴張慾望，如同陰間；又像死亡，永不滿足。他們招聚萬國，集合萬民，都歸自己。

耶穌說：“如果不是從天上給你權柄，你就無權辦我；因此，把我交給你的那人，罪更重了。”

王啊！你就是那樹，越來越偉大堅強；你的威勢漸長，高達於天；你的權柄直到地極。

是我用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造了大地，以及地面上的人和獸；我看給誰適合，就把地給誰。現在我已經親自把這一切國家都交在我僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的手中，連田野的走獸，我也交給他，供他奴役。列國都要服事他和他的兒子、孫子，直到他本國遭報的時候來到；那時，許多國家和大君王都要奴役他。

政府的權柄，人人都應當服從。因為沒有一樣權柄不是從神來的；掌權的都是神設立的。
