Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream.( He is called Belteshazzar, after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)

At last Daniel came in before me— he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods— and I told him the dream, saying,

Later Daniel entered( whose name is Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom there is a spirit of the holy gods). I recounted the dream for him as well,

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. I told the dream before him, saying,

太监长给他们另外起名，称但以理为伯提沙撒，称哈拿尼雅为沙得拉，称米沙利为米煞，称亚撒利雅为亚伯尼歌。

“这是我—尼布甲尼撒王所做的梦。伯提沙撒啊，你要说明这梦的解释；我国中所有的智慧人都不能把梦的解释告诉我，惟独你能，因你里头有神圣神明的灵。”

我听说你里头有神明的灵，心中有光，又有聪明和高超的智慧。

‘术士的领袖伯提沙撒啊，我知道你里头有神圣神明的灵，什么奥秘都不能为难你。现在你要把我梦中所见的异象和梦的解释告诉我。’

在你国中有一人，他里头有神圣神明的灵，你父在世的日子，这人心中光明，又有聪明智慧，好像神明的智慧。你父尼布甲尼撒王，就是王的父，曾立他为术士、巫师、迦勒底人和观兆者的领袖，都因为他有美好的灵性，又有知识聪明，能解梦，释谜语，解疑惑。这人名叫但以理，尼布甲尼撒王又称他为伯提沙撒，现在可以召他来，他必解明这意思。”

王所问的事很难，除了不与血肉之躯同住的神，没有人能在王面前解释。”

那时，他的百姓想起古时摩西的日子：“那将百姓和牧养群羊的人从海里领上来的在哪里呢？那将圣灵降在他们中间，

你们要在万国中传扬，宣告，竖立大旗；要宣告，不可隐瞒，说：“巴比伦被攻取，彼勒蒙羞，米罗达惊惶。巴比伦的神像都蒙羞，它的偶像都惊惶。”

彼勒叩拜，尼波屈身；巴比伦的偶像驮在走兽和牲畜背上。你们所抬的成了重驮，使牲畜疲乏。

我要在那里降临，与你说话，把降给你的灵分给他们。他们就和你分担带领百姓的担子，免得你独自承担。你要对百姓说：‘你们要为了明天使自己分别为圣，你们将有肉吃。因你们哭着说：谁给我们肉吃呢？我们在埃及多么好！这声音传到了耶和华的耳中，所以他必给你们肉吃。你们不只吃一天、两天、五天、十天、二十天，而是整整一个月，直到肉从你们的鼻孔喷出来，使你们厌恶。因为你们厌弃那住在你们中间的耶和华，在他面前哭着说：我们为何出埃及呢？’”摩西说：“跟我在一起的百姓，步行的男人就有六十万，你还说：‘我要把肉赐给他们，使他们可以整整吃一个月。’难道宰了羊群牛群，就够给他们吗？或者把海中所有的鱼都捕来，就够给他们吗？”耶和华对摩西说：“耶和华的膀臂岂是缩短了吗？现在你要看我的话向你应验不应验。”摩西出去，把耶和华的话告诉百姓，并从百姓的长老中召集七十个人来，叫他们站在会幕的四围。耶和华在云中降临，对摩西说话，把降给他的灵分给那七十个长老。灵停在他们身上的时候，他们就说预言，以后却没有再说了。但有两个人仍在营里，一个名叫伊利达，一个名叫米达。他们本是在那些登记的人中，却没有到会幕那里去。灵停在他们身上，他们就在营里说预言。有一个年轻人跑来告诉摩西说：“伊利达和米达在营里说预言。”嫩的儿子约书亚，年轻时就作摩西的助手，说：“请我主摩西禁止他们。”摩西对他说：“你为我的缘故嫉妒吗？惟愿耶和华的百姓都是先知，愿耶和华把他的灵降在他们身上！”于是，摩西回到营里去，以色列的长老也回去了。
