當時，尼布甲尼撒大發烈怒，命令把沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌帶過來；他們就把這幾個人帶到王面前。

我就要向你們發烈怒，行事與你們作對，因你們的罪，加重七倍懲罰你們。

「你們行事若與我作對，不肯聽從我，我就要因你們的罪，加重七倍災禍擊打你們。

我就要行事與你們作對，因你們的罪，加重七倍擊打你們。

如果這樣，你們還不聽從我，我就要因你們的罪，加重七倍懲罰你們。

仇敵說：『我要追趕，我要追上，我要分擄物，在他們身上滿足我的心願，我要拔刀，親手毀滅他們。』你用風一吹，海水就淹沒他們；他們像鉛沉在大水之中。

我必將這杯遞在苦待你的人手中。他們曾對你說：『你屈身，任我們踐踏過去吧！』你就以背為地，又如街道，任人走過。

眾人聽見這些話，心中極其惱怒，向司提反咬牙切齒。

就變了臉色，心意驚惶，腰骨好像脫節，雙膝彼此相碰，

石頭沉，沙土重，愚妄人的惱怒比這兩樣更沉重。憤怒為殘忍，怒氣像狂瀾，惟有嫉妒，誰能擋得住呢？

心驕氣傲的人名叫傲慢，他行事出於狂妄驕傲。

王下令，把那些控告但以理的人和他們的妻子兒女都帶來，扔在獅子坑中。他們還沒有到坑底，獅子就制伏他們，咬碎他們的骨頭。

人的憤怒終必稱謝你，你要以人的餘怒束腰。

卻看不中該隱和他的供物。該隱就非常生氣，沉下臉來。耶和華對該隱說：「你為甚麼生氣呢？你為甚麼沉下臉來呢？

議會的人聽了極其惱怒，想要殺他們。

他又在壇上擺好了柴，把牛犢切成小塊放在柴上，說：「你們用四個桶盛滿水，倒在燔祭和柴上。」他又說：「倒第二次。」他們就倒第二次。他又說：「倒第三次。」他們就倒第三次。水流到壇的四圍，溝裏也滿了水。

『你坐下，你出去，你進來，你向我發烈怒，我都知道。因你向我發烈怒，你的狂傲上達我耳中，我要用鈎子鈎住你的鼻子，將嚼環放在你口裏，使你從原路轉回去。』

雅各見拉班的臉色，看哪，待他不如從前了。

說：「大人，我們記得那迷惑人的還活着的時候曾說：『三天後我要復活。』因此，請吩咐人將墳墓把守妥當，直到第三天，恐怕他的門徒來把他偷了去，就告訴百姓說：『他從死人中復活了。』這樣的話，那後來的迷惑就比先前的更厲害了。」彼拉多說：「你們有看守的兵，去吧！盡你們所能的把守妥當。」他們就帶着看守的兵同去，封了石頭，將墳墓把守妥當。

王大怒，起來離開酒席往御花園去了。哈曼見王定意要加罪於他，就留下來求以斯帖王后救他的命。

「我的朋友，我對你們說，那最多只能殺人身體而不能再做甚麼的，不要怕他們。我提醒你們該怕的是誰：該怕那殺了以後又有權柄把人扔在地獄裏的。是的，我告訴你們，正要怕他。

便‧哈達又派人到亞哈那裏，說：「撒瑪利亞的塵土若足夠跟從我的軍兵每人手拿一把，願神明重重懲罰我！」以色列王回答說：「你們告訴他說，『剛束上腰帶的，不要像已卸下的那樣誇口。』」

王的震怒是死亡的使者，但智慧人能平息王怒。
