Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual

那時尼布甲尼撒大發烈怒、吩咐人把沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌帶來；人就把那些人帶到了王面前。

我就要發烈怒，行事跟你們作對；我要因你們的罪而懲罰你們七倍。

『你們行事若跟我作對，不情願聽從我，我就要按你們的罪加七倍疫災給你們。

那麼我、行事也就跟你們作對。我要因你們的罪擊打你們七倍；

經了這些事你們若還不聽從我，我就要因你們的罪加七倍懲罰你們；

仇敵說：「我要追趕，我要趕上；我要分擄物；我要拿住他們，來滿足心願。我要拔出刀來，親手趕滅他們。」但你一吹氣，海就淹沒他們，他們就像鉛沉沒於壯闊水中。

我必將這杯遞在那苦待你、的人手中，因為他們曾對你說：『你俯首屈身，讓我們踹過去！你便使背脊像地，好像街道、任人踹過去』。

眾人聽了這些話，心如刀割，就向司提反咬牙切齒。

王就變了氣色，他的思想使他驚惶；他的腰骨好像脫了節，雙膝直彼此相碰。

石頭之重！沙土之沉！愚頑人之惹怒、比這兩樣更重！烈怒之兇猛、怒氣之橫流！還可以對付；對嫉妒、誰能敵得住呢？

傲慢倨傲者名叫褻慢人，乃行事暴發驕橫的。

王下了令，人就把那些誣衊控告但以理的人、連他們的兒女和妻子、都帶了來，扔在獅子坑中；他們還沒有到坑底，獅子便撲着他們，把他們的骨頭咬碎了。

人的烈怒終必稱讚你；你必用人的餘怒去束腰。

卻沒看中該隱和該隱的供物。該隱就極其惱怒，變了臉色。永恆主對該隱說：『你為甚麼惱怒？你臉色為甚麼變了呢？

會眾聽了，心如刀割，就起意要殺掉使徒。

他又擺好了柴，把公牛切成塊子，放在柴上；又說：『盛滿了四桶水，倒在燔祭上和柴上』；又說：『倒第二次』；他們就倒第二次；又說：『倒第三次』；他們就倒第三次；水都流在祭壇的四圍了，他也使溝裏倒滿了水。

你坐下、你出、你入、我都知道；你還向我激怒！因你向我激怒，又因你倨傲的話上我耳中，我就必放鈎子鈎你的鼻子，把嚼環放在你嘴上，使你從你來的路上轉回去。』

雅各看看拉班的臉色，果然拉班對他不像素常那樣了。

說：『大人，我們記得那迷惑人者還活着的時候曾經說過：「三天以後我要活起來」。所以請發命令將墓把守妥當、直到第三天；恐怕他門徒來了，把他偷去，卻告訴人民說：「他從死人中活了起來」；這樣，那末後的迷惑就比先前的更厲害了。』彼拉多對他們說：『領一排守衛隊去吧；儘你們所能的把守妥當。』他們就去，將墓把守妥當，蓋印封着石頭，加上守衛隊。

王怒氣上衝，就從酒席間起來，往王宮花園去；哈曼見王已經決定要加罪於他，就仍呆着，求王后以斯帖救他的命。

我向你們做我朋友的說，對那殺身體、以後再沒有甚麼可作的、你們不要怕。我要指示你們應當怕誰：你們要怕那把你們殺了以後、又有權柄把你們丟在地獄裏的；實在的、我告訴你們，你們要怕這一位。

便哈達又差遣人來見亞哈說：『撒瑪利亞的塵土若夠跟從我的人每人捧一捧的，願神明這樣懲罰我，並且加倍地懲罰。』以色列王回答說：『你們只要說：「才束上武裝的、休要像解掉了的來誇口。」』

王的烈怒乃死亡之使者；但智慧人能平息王怒。
