Then the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men.

Then the king put Daniel in a position of authority. He gave him many gifts. He made him ruler over the city of Babylon and the towns around it. He put him in charge of all its other wise men.

Then the king gave Daniel high honors and many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon and chief prefect over all the wise men of Babylon.

但你們若能說出這個夢和夢的解釋，就必從我得到禮物、賞賜和殊榮。現在，你們要把夢和夢的解釋告訴我。」

在你國中有一人，他裏頭有神聖神明的靈，你父在世的日子，這人心中光明，又有聰明智慧，好像神明的智慧。你父尼布甲尼撒王，就是王的父，曾立他為術士、巫師、迦勒底人和觀兆者的領袖，

『術士的領袖伯提沙撒啊，我知道你裏頭有神聖神明的靈，甚麼奧祕都不能為難你。現在你要把我夢中所見的異象和夢的解釋告訴我。』

我聽說你能講解，能解疑惑；現在你若能讀這文字，為我講解它的意思，就必身穿紫袍，項戴金鏈，在我國中位列第三。」

法老對約瑟說：「神既指示你這一切事，就沒有人像你這樣聰明又有智慧。你可以治理我的家；我的百姓都必服從你口中的命令。惟獨在寶座上，我比你大。」法老又對約瑟說：「看，我委派你治理埃及全地。」法老就脫下手上帶印的戒指，戴在約瑟的手上，給他穿上細麻衣，把金鏈戴在他的頸項上，又給約瑟坐他的副座車，在他前面有人呼叫說：「跪下。」於是，法老委派他治理埃及全地。

於是伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍給但以理穿上，把金鏈給他戴在頸項上，又傳令使他在國中位列第三。

我要去見尊貴的人，向他們說話，他們應該知道耶和華的作為，知道他們神的法則。」然而，這些人卻齊心將軛折斷，掙開繩索。

在瑪雲有一個人，他的產業在迦密。這人是一個大富翁，有三千隻綿羊，一千隻山羊；他正在迦密剪羊毛。

他的家產有七千隻羊，三千匹駱駝，五百對牛，五百匹母驢，並有許多僕婢。這人在東方人中為至大。

巴西萊年紀老邁，已經八十歲了。王住在瑪哈念的時候，他拿食物來供給王，因他是個大富翁。

那時王在巴比倫省使沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌高升。

如今你趕快回本地去吧！我想使你大得尊榮，看哪，耶和華卻阻止你得尊榮。」

他們來到巴蘭那裏，對他說：「西撥的兒子巴勒這樣說：『請你不要再推辭到我這裏來！我必使你得極大的尊榮，無論你向我要甚麼，我都給你。只求你來為我詛咒這百姓。』」

亞蘭王的元帥乃縵在他主人面前是一個偉大的人，得王的喜悅，因為耶和華曾藉他使亞蘭人得勝。他雖然是大能的勇士，卻染上了痲瘋。

以色列人說：「這上來的人你看見了嗎？他上來是要向以色列人罵陣。若有人能殺他，王必賞賜他大財，將自己的女兒嫁給他，並在以色列人中免除他父家納糧服役。」

現在有幾個猶大人，就是王所派管理巴比倫省事務的沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌；王啊，這些人不理你的諭旨，不事奉你的神明，也不拜你所立的金像。」

尼布甲尼撒王造了一個金像，高六十肘，寬六肘，立在巴比倫省的杜拉平原。

大流士隨心所願，立了一百二十個總督，治理全國，又在他們以上立總長三人，但以理也在其中；使總督在他們三人面前呈報，免得王受虧損。
