Then the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men.

但你们若能说出这个梦和梦的解释，就必从我得到礼物、赏赐和殊荣。现在，你们要把梦和梦的解释告诉我。”

在你国中有一人，他里头有神圣神明的灵，你父在世的日子，这人心中光明，又有聪明智慧，好像神明的智慧。你父尼布甲尼撒王，就是王的父，曾立他为术士、巫师、迦勒底人和观兆者的领袖，

‘术士的领袖伯提沙撒啊，我知道你里头有神圣神明的灵，什么奥秘都不能为难你。现在你要把我梦中所见的异象和梦的解释告诉我。’

我听说你能讲解，能解疑惑；现在你若能读这文字，为我讲解它的意思，就必身穿紫袍，项戴金链，在我国中位列第三。”

法老对约瑟说：“神既指示你这一切事，就没有人像你这样聪明又有智慧。你可以治理我的家；我的百姓都必服从你口中的命令。惟独在宝座上，我比你大。”法老又对约瑟说：“看，我委派你治理埃及全地。”法老就脱下手上带印的戒指，戴在约瑟的手上，给他穿上细麻衣，把金链戴在他的颈项上，又给约瑟坐他的副座车，在他前面有人呼叫说：“跪下。”于是，法老委派他治理埃及全地。

于是伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍给但以理穿上，把金链给他戴在颈项上，又传令使他在国中位列第三。

我要去见尊贵的人，向他们说话，他们应该知道耶和华的作为，知道他们神的法则。”然而，这些人却齐心将轭折断，挣开绳索。

在玛云有一个人，他的产业在迦密。这人是一个大富翁，有三千只绵羊，一千只山羊；他正在迦密剪羊毛。

他的家产有七千只羊，三千匹骆驼，五百对牛，五百匹母驴，并有许多仆婢。这人在东方人中为至大。

巴西莱年纪老迈，已经八十岁了。王住在玛哈念的时候，他拿食物来供给王，因他是个大富翁。

那时王在巴比伦省使沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌高升。

如今你赶快回本地去吧！我想使你大得尊荣，看哪，耶和华却阻止你得尊荣。”

他们来到巴兰那里，对他说：“西拨的儿子巴勒这样说：‘请你不要再推辞到我这里来！我必使你得极大的尊荣，无论你向我要什么，我都给你。只求你来为我诅咒这百姓。’”

亚兰王的元帅乃缦在他主人面前是一个伟大的人，得王的喜悦，因为耶和华曾藉他使亚兰人得胜。他虽然是大能的勇士，却染上了麻风。

以色列人说：“这上来的人你看见了吗？他上来是要向以色列人骂阵。若有人能杀他，王必赏赐他大财，将自己的女儿嫁给他，并在以色列人中免除他父家纳粮服役。”

现在有几个犹大人，就是王所派管理巴比伦省事务的沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌；王啊，这些人不理你的谕旨，不事奉你的神明，也不拜你所立的金像。”

尼布甲尼撒王造了一个金像，高六十肘，宽六肘，立在巴比伦省的杜拉平原。

大流士随心所愿，立了一百二十个总督，治理全国，又在他们以上立总长三人，但以理也在其中；使总督在他们三人面前呈报，免得王受亏损。
