但以理對曰、王所問之秘奧、哲士術士、巫人卜筮、不能告王、

對曰、王所問之事、哲人賢者、博士太史、不能告王、

但以理對曰、王所問之奧秘、非哲士、術士、博士、星士、所能告王者、

Daniel replied,“ No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about,

Daniel replied,“ You have asked us to explain a mystery to you. But no wise man can do that. And those who try to figure things out by using magic can’t do it either.

Daniel answered the king and said,“ No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked,

Daniel replied,“ There are no wise men, enchanters, magicians, or fortune tellers who can reveal the king’s secret.

Daniel answered the king,“ No wise man, medium, magician, or diviner is able to make known to the king the mystery he asked about.

Daniel answered before the king and said,“ As for the secret about which the king has inquired, neither wise men, sorcerers, soothsayer priests, nor diviners are able to declare it to the king.

Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said,“ The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king.

Daniel answered before the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded can neither wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor soothsayers, show unto the king;

Daniel answered the king:“ No wise man, medium, diviner-priest, or astrologer is able to make known to the king the mystery he asked about.

Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise[ men], the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

Daniel replied to the king,“ The mystery that the king is asking about is such that no wise men, astrologers, magicians, or diviners can possibly disclose it to the king.

Daniel answered before the king, and said,“ The secret which the king has demanded can’t be shown to the king by wise men, enchanters, magicians, or soothsayers;

The king summoned the enchanters, astrologers and diviners. Then he said to these wise men of Babylon,“ Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”Then all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant. (niv)

The astrologers answered the king,“ There is no one on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer.What the king asks is too difficult. No one can reveal it to the king except the gods, and they do not live among humans.” (niv)

So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king, (niv)

The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists. (niv)

“ Keep on, then, with your magic spells and with your many sorceries, which you have labored at since childhood. Perhaps you will succeed, perhaps you will cause terror.All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you.Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. These are not coals for warmth; this is not a fire to sit by. (niv)

who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense, (niv)

He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.He catches the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away. (niv)
