我民中的一切罪人說：災禍必追不上我們，也迎不着我們。他們必死在刀下。

我子民中所有的罪人，就是那些說『災禍必不靠近，必不追上我們』的，都必死在刀下。」

閭閻之惡人、自謂禍不及己者、俱必亡於鋒刃、

All the sinners among my people will die by the sword, all those who say,‘ Disaster will not overtake or meet us.’

All the sinners among my people will be killed by swords. They say,‘ Nothing bad will ever happen to us.’

All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, who say,‘ Disaster shall not overtake or meet us.’

But all the sinners will die by the sword— all those who say,‘ Nothing bad will happen to us.’

All the sinners among my people who say,“ Disaster will never overtake or confront us,” will die by the sword.

All the sinners of My people will die by the sword, Those who say,‘ The catastrophe will not overtake or confront us.’

All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, Who say,‘ The calamity shall not overtake nor confront us.’

All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, who say, The evil shall not overtake nor meet us.

All the sinners among My people who say:“ Disaster will never overtake or confront us,” will die by the sword.

All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.

All the sinners among my people will die by the sword– the ones who say,‘ Disaster will not come near, it will not confront us.’

Those who put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?

“ Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.”

So will it be in the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked from among the righteous,and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.”

He says in his heart,“ God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.”

Woe to those who are at ease in Zion, and to those who are secure on the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come!

“ I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.”’“ As for you, O my flock, the Lord Yahweh says:‘ Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats.

“ For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them up,” says Yahweh of Armies,“ that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

I will purge out from among you the rebels and those who disobey me. I will bring them out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”

Now we call the proud happy; yes, those who work wickedness are built up; yes, they tempt God, and escape.’

“ Come,” say they,“ I will get wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow will be as today, great beyond measure.”

Then they said,“ Come! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law won’t perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”

who say,“ Let him make haste, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!”

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity,and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

In that day you will not be disappointed for all your doings, in which you have transgressed against me; for then I will take away out from among you your proudly exulting ones, and you will no more be arrogant in my holy mountain.But I will leave among you an afflicted and poor people, and they will take refuge in Yahweh’s name.The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.”

Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem:“ Because you have said,‘ We have made a covenant with death, and we are in agreement with Sheol. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’”

It shall happen that in all the land,” says Yahweh,“ two parts in it will be cut off and die; but the third will be left in it.I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say,‘ It is my people;’ and they will say,‘ Yahweh is my God.’”

“ But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap;and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer to Yahweh offerings in righteousness.Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to Yahweh, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years.I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don’t fear me,” says Yahweh of Armies.
