他们当中有人潜入别人家里，操纵无知的妇女；这些妇女被罪恶压制，被各样的私欲引诱，虽然常常学习，终久无法达到明白真理的地步。

那又怎么说呢？以色列人所寻求的，他们没有得着。但是蒙拣选的人得着了，其余的人却成了顽梗不化的。如经上所记：“神给他们昏沉的灵，眼睛看不见，耳朵听不到，直到今日。”大卫也说：“愿他们的宴席变为罗网，变为陷阱，变为绊脚石，作他们的报应。愿他们的眼睛昏花，看不见；愿你时常弯下他们的腰。”

但以色列人追求律法的义，反而达不到律法的义。这是什么缘故呢？是因为他们不凭着信心，而是凭着行为，他们正跌在那绊脚石上。就如经上所记：“我在锡安放一块绊脚的石头，使人跌倒的磐石；信靠他的人必不蒙羞。”

傲慢人枉寻智慧；聪明人易得知识。

不跟我一起的，就是反对我；不与我一起收聚的，就是在拆散。

那时，耶稣说：“父啊，天地的主，我感谢你！因为你把这些事向聪明智慧的人隐藏起来，而向婴孩启示出来。父啊，是的，因为你的美意本是如此。一切都是我父交给我的；除了父，没有人知道子；除了子和子所愿意启示的人，没有人知道父。

但以理啊，你要隐藏这话，封闭这书，直到末时。必有许多人往来奔跑，知识就必增长。”

当你们献上供物，使你们儿子经火的时候，你们仍用各样的偶像玷污自己，直到今日。以色列家啊，我岂能让你们求问呢？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不让你们求问。
