这些人溜进别人家里，哄骗那些意志薄弱的妇女。那些妇女心中充满罪恶，受各种邪情私欲的驱使，虽然常常学习，却不能明白真理。

这该怎么说呢？以色列人努力追求，却一无所得，只有蒙拣选的人得到了，其他的人都变得顽固不化。正如圣经上说：“上帝使他们至今心智昏迷，眼睛看不见，耳朵听不到。”大卫也说：“愿他们的宴席成为网罗、陷阱、绊脚石，给他们带来报应；愿他们眼目昏暗，无法看见，永远弯腰驼背。”

以色列人靠遵行律法追求义，却徒劳无功。为什么会这样呢？因为他们不凭信心，只靠自己的行为去追求义，结果就在那块“绊脚石”上跌倒了。正如圣经上说：“看啊！我在锡安放了一块绊脚石，一块使人跌倒的磐石。但信靠祂的人必不致蒙羞。”

嘲讽者徒然寻智慧，明哲人轻易得知识。

“不与我为友就是与我为敌；不助我召集就是故意拆散。

那时，耶稣说：“父啊，天地的主，我颂赞你，因为你把这些事向聪明、有学问的人隐藏起来，却启示给像孩童一般的人。父啊，是的，这正是你的美意。我父将一切交给了我。除了父，没有人认识子；除了子和受子启示的人，没有人认识父。

但以理啊，这些话要保密，要把这书封起来，直到末了。许多人必四处探究，因而知识必增多。”

你们至今仍把自己的儿子烧作祭物献给偶像，玷污自己吗？以色列人啊，我会让你们求问吗？主耶和华说，我凭我的永恒起誓，我决不让你们求问。
