I hate, I despise your feasts, and I can’t stand your solemn assemblies.

「我厭惡你們的節期，也不喜悅你們的嚴肅會。

「我厭惡你們的節期，也不喜悅你們的嚴肅會。

「我憎惡、鄙棄你們的節期，厭惡你們的聖會。

我憎恨、厭惡你們的節期，也不喜愛你們的節日。

『我恨惡、我鄙視你們的節期，我不聞你們聖節會中的氣味。

爾之節期、我厭惡之、爾之肅會、我不悅之、

爾設節期、我所深憾、爾立大會、我甚不悅、

爾之節期、我憎惡厭棄、厭棄或作輕視爾大會之日、我甚不悅、爾大會之日我甚不悅或作爾聖會所獻之祭我不享之

“ I hate, I despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me.

The Lord says,“ I hate your holy feasts. I can’t stand them. Your gatherings stink.

“ I hate, I despise your feasts, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.

“ I hate all your show and pretense— the hypocrisy of your religious festivals and solemn assemblies.

I hate, I despise, your feasts! I can’t stand the stench of your solemn assemblies.

“ I hate, I reject your festivals, Nor do I delight in your festive assemblies.

“ I hate, I despise your feast days, And I do not savor your sacred assemblies.

I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies.

I hate, I despise your feasts! I can’t stand the stench of your solemn assemblies.

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

“ I absolutely despise your festivals! I get no pleasure from your religious assemblies!

I will lay your cities waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation. I will not take delight in the sweet fragrance of your offerings.

To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”

“ What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?”, says Yahweh.“ I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me. New moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can’t stand evil assemblies.My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.Wash yourselves. Make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.

He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog’s neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig’s blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations:

As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it; But Yahweh doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.

He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination— how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!

The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

Yahweh smelled the pleasant aroma. Yahweh said in his heart,“ I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. I will never again strike every living thing, as I have done.

Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet- smelling fragrance.

But I have all things and abound. I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, a sweet- smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well- pleasing sacrifice to God.

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says:“ Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat.For I didn’t speak to your fathers or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices;but this thing I commanded them, saying,‘ Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’
