你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；領工錢的，領了工錢卻裝入有破洞的袋中。

亞哈對俄巴底說：「我們要走遍這地，到一切水泉旁和一切溪邊，或者能找到青草，可以救活馬和騾子，免得喪失一些牲畜。」

他又對我說：「人子，看哪，我必斷絕耶路撒冷糧食的供應。他們要帶着憂慮限量吃餅；帶着驚惶限量喝水。他們因缺糧缺水，彼此驚惶，在自己的罪孽中消滅。」

我說：『她行這些事以後會回轉歸向我』，她卻不回轉。她奸詐的妹妹猶大也看見了。

他們的貴族打發僮僕去打水；他們來到水池，找不到水，就拿着空器皿，蒙羞慚愧，抱頭而回。因為無雨降在地上，土地就乾裂，農夫為此蒙羞抱頭。

你要吃，卻吃不飽，你的肚子仍是空空。你必被挪去，不得逃脫；如有逃脫的，我必交給刀劍。

困苦貧窮人尋找水，卻尋不着；他們因口渴，舌頭乾燥。我－耶和華必應允他們，我－以色列的上帝必不離棄他們。我要在光禿的高地開江河，在谷中開泉源；我要使沙漠變為水池，使乾地變為湧泉。

「我以焚風和霉爛攻擊你們，你們許多的菜園、葡萄園、無花果樹、橄欖樹屢屢被剪蟲所吃，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。「我降瘟疫在你們中間，如在埃及的樣子；用刀殺戮你們的年輕人和你們遭擄掠的馬匹，營中臭氣撲鼻，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。「我傾覆你們，如同上帝從前傾覆所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣；你們好像從火中搶救出來的一根柴，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。

以色列的驕傲使自己臉面無光。他們雖遭遇這一切，仍不歸向耶和華－他們的上帝，也不尋求他。

我在耶路撒冷的先知中曾見恐怖的事；他們犯姦淫，行虛謊，又堅固惡人的手，無人回轉離開自己的惡行。他們在我面前都像所多瑪，耶路撒冷的居民都像蛾摩拉。
