So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.

火焚哈泄家、燬便哈達之宮殿。

I will send fire on the house of Hazael that will consume the fortresses of Ben-Hadad.

So I will send fire to destroy the palace of King Hazael. It will burn up the forts of his son Ben- Hadad.

So I will send down fire on King Hazael’s palace, and the fortresses of King Ben hadad will be destroyed.

Therefore, I will send fire against Hazael’s palace, and it will consume Ben-hadad’s citadels.

So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael, And it will consume the citadels of Ben hadad.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, Which shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben- hadad.

Therefore, I will send fire against Hazael’s palace, and it will consume Ben-hadad’s citadels.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.

So I will set Hazael’s house on fire; fire will consume Ben Hadad’s fortresses.

but I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the palaces of Ben Hadad.

And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.”

Then Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again from Ben-hadad the son of Hazael the cities that he had taken from Jehoahaz his father in war. Three times Joash defeated him and recovered the cities of Israel.

Now Elisha came to Damascus. Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick. And when it was told him,“ The man of God has come here,”the king said to Hazael,“ Take a present with you and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord through him, saying,‘ Shall I recover from this sickness?’”So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, all kinds of goods of Damascus, forty camels’ loads. When he came and stood before him, he said,“ Your son Ben-hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying,‘ Shall I recover from this sickness?’”And Elisha said to him,“ Go, say to him,‘ You shall certainly recover,’ but the Lord has shown me that he shall certainly die.”And he fixed his gaze and stared at him, until he was embarrassed. And the man of God wept.And Hazael said,“ Why does my lord weep?” He answered,“ Because I know the evil that you will do to the people of Israel. You will set on fire their fortresses, and you will kill their young men with the sword and dash in pieces their little ones and rip open their pregnant women.”And Hazael said,“ What is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?” Elisha answered,“ The Lord has shown me that you are to be king over Syria.”Then he departed from Elisha and came to his master, who said to him,“ What did Elisha say to you?” And he answered,“ He told me that you would certainly recover.”But the next day he took the bed cloth and dipped it in water and spread it over his face, till he died. And Hazael became king in his place.

But if you do not listen to me, to keep the Sabbath day holy, and not to bear a burden and enter by the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem and shall not be quenched.’”

And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he gave them continually into the hand of Hazael king of Syria and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael.

Afterward Ben-hadad king of Syria mustered his entire army and went up and besieged Samaria.

So I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her strongholds.

I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Then Asa took silver and gold from the treasures of the house of the Lord and the king’s house and sent them to Ben-hadad king of Syria, who lived in Damascus, saying,

So I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour her strongholds, with shouting on the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

And the Lord said to him,“ Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria.

So I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah.”

And God also made all the evil of the men of Shechem return on their heads, and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.

Ben-hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together. Thirty-two kings were with him, and horses and chariots. And he went up and closed in on Samaria and fought against it.And he sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel and said to him,“ Thus says Ben-hadad:‘ Your silver and your gold are mine; your best wives and children also are mine.’”And the king of Israel answered,“ As you say, my lord, O king, I am yours, and all that I have.”The messengers came again and said,“ Thus says Ben-hadad:‘ I sent to you, saying,“ Deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children.”Nevertheless I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants and lay hands on whatever pleases you and take it away.’”Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said,“ Mark, now, and see how this man is seeking trouble, for he sent to me for my wives and my children, and for my silver and my gold, and I did not refuse him.”And all the elders and all the people said to him,“ Do not listen or consent.”So he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad,“ Tell my lord the king,‘ All that you first demanded of your servant I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” And the messengers departed and brought him word again.Ben-hadad sent to him and said,“ The gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”And the king of Israel answered,“ Tell him,‘ Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself as he who takes it off.’”When Ben-hadad heard this message as he was drinking with the kings in the booths, he said to his men,“ Take your positions.” And they took their positions against the city.And behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel and said,“ Thus says the Lord, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will give it into your hand this day, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”And Ahab said,“ By whom?” He said,“ Thus says the Lord, By the servants of the governors of the districts.” Then he said,“ Who shall begin the battle?” He answered,“ You.”Then he mustered the servants of the governors of the districts, and they were 232. And after them he mustered all the people of Israel, seven thousand.And they went out at noon, while Ben-hadad was drinking himself drunk in the booths, he and the thirty-two kings who helped him.The servants of the governors of the districts went out first. And Ben-hadad sent out scouts, and they reported to him,“ Men are coming out from Samaria.”He said,“ If they have come out for peace, take them alive. Or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”So these went out of the city, the servants of the governors of the districts and the army that followed them.And each struck down his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them, but Ben-hadad king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.And the king of Israel went out and struck the horses and chariots, and struck the Syrians with a great blow.Then the prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him,“ Come, strengthen yourself, and consider well what you have to do, for in the spring the king of Syria will come up against you.”

So I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour her strongholds.”

So I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the strongholds of Jerusalem.”

So I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth, and Moab shall die amid uproar, amid shouting and the sound of the trumpet;

Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have set fire to Egypt, and all her helpers are broken.

For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces, and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; so I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour her strongholds.

if you then have acted in good faith and integrity with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you.But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech and devour the leaders of Shechem and Beth-millo; and let fire come out from the leaders of Shechem and from Beth-millo and devour Abimelech.”
