But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.

But Barnabas took him to the apostles. He told them about Saul’s journey. He said that Saul had seen the Lord. He told how the Lord had spoken to Saul. Barnabas also said that Saul had preached without fear in Jesus’ name in Damascus.

有一個利未人，名叫約瑟，使徒稱他為巴拿巴（巴拿巴翻出來就是安慰之子），生在塞浦路斯。

主啊，現在求你鑒察，他們的威嚇，使你僕人放膽講你的道，

他們見彼得、約翰的膽量，又看出他們原是沒有學問的平民，就很驚訝，認出他們曾是跟耶穌一起的；

過了三年，我才上耶路撒冷去見磯法，和他同住了十五天。至於別的使徒，除了主的兄弟雅各，我都沒有見過。

他又往大數去找掃羅，

我們認為，既然我們同心定意，就揀選幾個人，派他們同我們所親愛的巴拿巴和保羅到你們那裏去。這二人曾為我主耶穌基督的名不顧自己的性命。

掃羅在途中，將到大馬士革的時候，忽然有一道光從天上下來，四面照射着他，他就仆倒在地，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為甚麼迫害我？」他說：「主啊！你是誰？」主說：「我就是你所迫害的耶穌。起來！進城去，你應該做的事，必有人告訴你。」

亞拿尼亞就去了，進入那家，把手按在掃羅身上，說：「掃羅弟兄，在你來的路上向你顯現的主，就是耶穌，打發我來，叫你能再看得見，又被聖靈充滿。」

這風聲傳到耶路撒冷教會的人耳中，他們就打發巴拿巴到安提阿去。

立刻在各會堂裏傳揚耶穌，說他是神的兒子。凡聽見的人都很驚奇，說：「在耶路撒冷殘害求告這名的不就是這個人嗎？他不是到這裏來要捆綁他們，帶到祭司長那裏去嗎？」但掃羅越發有能力，駁倒住在大馬士革的猶太人，證明耶穌是基督。

保羅和巴拿巴跟他們發生了激烈的爭執和辯論；大家就決定指派保羅、巴拿巴和本會的幾個人，為所辯論的事上耶路撒冷去見使徒和長老。

巴拿巴和掃羅完成了供給的事，就回到耶路撒冷，帶着稱為馬可的約翰同去。

但保羅和巴拿巴仍留在安提阿，和許多別的人一同教導，並傳揚主的道。過了些日子，保羅對巴拿巴說：「讓我們回到從前宣揚主道的各城，看看弟兄們的情況如何。」巴拿巴有意要帶稱為馬可的約翰同去；但保羅認為不宜帶他去，因為馬可從前在旁非利亞離開他們，不和他們一起工作。於是二人起了爭執，甚至彼此分手。巴拿巴帶着馬可，坐船往塞浦路斯去；

他們在事奉主和禁食的時候，聖靈說：「要為我分派巴拿巴和掃羅去做我召他們做的工作。」

也要為我祈求，讓我有口才，能放膽開口講明福音的奧祕，我為這福音的奧祕作了帶鐵鏈的使者，讓我能照着當盡的本分放膽宣講。

其餘的猶太人也都隨着他裝假，甚至連巴拿巴也隨夥裝假。

那些被認為是教會柱石的雅各、磯法、約翰知道神所賜給我的恩典，就跟我和巴拿巴握右手以示合作，同意我們往外邦人那裏去，他們往受割禮的人那裏去。

只有我和巴拿巴沒有權利不做工嗎？

最後也顯給我看；我如同未到產期而生的人一般。
