阿納尼亞卻回答：「主啊，我聽許多人說過有關這個人在耶路撒冷對你的聖徒們所做的種種惡事。

亞拿尼亞曰：『主、歷聞人言、彼於耶路撒冷迫害聖徒、無所不用其極；

“ Lord,” Ananias answered,“ I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem.

“ Lord,” Ananias answered,“ I’ve heard many reports about this man. They say he has done great harm to your holy people in Jerusalem.

But Ananias answered,“ Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem.

“ But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias,“ I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem!

“ Lord,” Ananias answered,“ I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem.

But Ananias answered,“ Lord, I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints in Jerusalem;

Then Ananias answered,“ Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.

But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. (niv)

Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest (niv)

“‘ Lord,’ I replied,‘ these people know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you.And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.’ (niv)

But Samuel said,“ How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.” The Lord said,“ Take a heifer with you and say,‘ I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ (niv)

Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution I take to Jerusalem may be favorably received by the Lord’s people there, (niv)

“ Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord. (niv)

And that is just what I did in Jerusalem. On the authority of the chief priests I put many of the Lord’s people in prison, and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them.Many a time I went from one synagogue to another to have them punished, and I tried to force them to blaspheme. I was so obsessed with persecuting them that I even hunted them down in foreign cities. (niv)

I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, (niv)

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners— of whom I am the worst. (niv)

But if I say,“ I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.I hear many whispering,“ Terror on every side! Denounce him! Let’s denounce him!” All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying,“ Perhaps he will be deceived; then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him.” (niv)

The Spirit then lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the Lord on me. (niv)

Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the Lord’s people there.For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem. (niv)
