時耶穌見被邀之客、紛紛自占上座、乃曉喻之曰：『爾赴婚筵、勿登首座、誠恐客中有尊於爾者、主人請爾讓位、則赧然而就末座矣。是故、爾被邀時、宜自居末座、主人至、乃曰：「吾友、請升、」爾則見榮於同席之前矣。蓋自尊者必見抑、而自謙者必見升也。』

爾時門徒進而問曰：『天國中、孰為大？』耶穌呼一孩提、使立諸徒中、曰：『吾實告爾爾若不幡然化為赤子、則末由進天國。

最後乃見於生不及時之予。予在宗徒中、為後生小子、實不堪稱為宗徒；以予曾窘辱聖教會故。

宗徒乃以手按之、於是聖神降臨而普獲靈感。

蓋爾等惟互相求榮、不求惟天主能賜之榮、又安能信道乎？
