扫罗也赞同杀害司提反。从那一天开始，有大逼迫临到耶路撒冷的教会。除了使徒以外，他们都分散到犹太和撒马利亚地区。

公认是柱石的雅各、矶法和约翰，既然明白了神所赐给我的恩典，就向巴拿巴和我伸出右手行契合之礼，要我们往外邦人那里去，而他们往受割礼的人那里去；

并派了我们的弟兄——在基督的福音工作上的神的同工提摩太，好在信仰上坚固你们、鼓励你们，

我们之所以也不住地感谢神，是因为你们接受了从我们所听的神的话语，没有把它看做人的话语，而是把它看做神的话语接受了；这确实是神的话语，而且它也正在你们这些信的人里面做工。

并且使用一切不义的诡计，因为他们不接受那能使他们得救的真理之爱。

后来，使徒们和在犹太各地的弟兄们听说外邦人也接受了神的话语。

有一次，在下午三点祷告的时候，彼得和约翰上圣殿去。一个生来瘸腿的被人抬来。他天天被放在那叫“美门”的圣殿门口，为要向进圣殿的人乞讨。他看见彼得和约翰正要进入圣殿，就求他们施舍。

那被撒上种子的‘好土壤’是这样的人：他听了这话语，就领悟了，必然结出果实来，结出的有一百倍的、有六十倍的、有三十倍的。”

拒绝我，又不接受我话的人，自有定他罪的：我所讲的话语，在末日要定他的罪。

耶稣差派彼得和约翰，说：“你们去为我们预备逾越节的晚餐，好让我们能吃上。”

这里的人比帖撒罗尼迦的人开明。他们满心乐意地接受这福音，天天查考经文，要看这些事是否如此。

于是领受他话的人就受了洗；那一天大约增加了三千人。

于是那些因司提反的事受患难而四散的信徒，就一直走到腓尼基地区、塞浦路斯岛和安提阿。他们只向犹太人，而不向任何人传讲福音。但其中有一些塞浦路斯人和古利奈人，来到安提阿，也向希腊人讲道，传主耶稣的福音。主的手与他们同在，有许许多多的人就相信、归向了主。这消息传到在耶路撒冷的教会，他们就派巴拿巴到安提阿去。

来到耶路撒冷，他们受到教会、使徒们和长老们的欢迎，就向大家传讲了神与他们一起做的事。
