有一個敬拜神的婦人，名叫莉迪婭，是錫亞蒂拉城賣紫色布的商人。她一直在聽，主開啟她的心竅，使她留心保羅所講的話。當她和她的家人受了洗之後，她請求我們說：「如果你們判斷我是主的信徒，請到我家裡來住。」於是她極力挽留我們。

信主的人越發增加，連男帶女成群結隊。

耶穌對他們說：「你們要到全世界去，向萬人傳福音。信而受洗的人，將會得救；不信的人，將被定罪。

就是說，人心裡相信以致稱義，口裡承認以致救恩，

他宣講神的國、教導有關主耶穌基督的事，滿有膽量、沒有攔阻。

其中沒有猶太人或希臘人，沒有為奴的或自由的，沒有男的或女的，因為你們在基督耶穌裡都合而為一了。

但其中有一些塞浦路斯人和古利奈人，來到安提阿，也向希臘人講道，傳主耶穌的福音。

他們說：「要信靠主耶穌，你和你一家人就將得救。」於是他們把主的福音講給獄卒和他家裡所有的人聽。當夜，就在那時刻，獄卒帶他們去清洗傷口，然後他和所有的家人立刻受了洗。他把保羅和賽拉斯領到家裡，擺上飯食。他和全家人因為信了神，都歡欣跳躍。

然後差派他們去宣講神的國，並且使病人痊癒。

無論對猶太人或希臘人，我都鄭重地勸誡他們要向神悔改，相信我們的主耶穌。

耶穌對他說：「讓死人去埋葬他們的死人吧。至於你，你要去宣講神的國。」

會堂主管克里斯普和他全家都信了主，還有許多哥林多人聽了以後就信了，並且受了洗。
