田未鬻、非爾之所有乎？鬻而得銀、又非爾之所屬乎？今爾心懷譎詐、是誠何為？爾非欺人、直欺天主耳！』

Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back[ part] of the price of the land?

He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband[ are] at the door, and shall carry thee out.

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.

And he went out from his presence a leper[ as white] as snow.

None calleth for justice, nor[ any] pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver,[ which] I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

And Moses said,[ This shall be], when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what[ are] we? your murmurings[ are] not against us, but against the LORD.

I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.

The gold for[ things] of gold, and the silver for[ things] of silver, and for all manner of work[ to be made] by the hands of artificers. And who[ then] is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?

Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and[ as] the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?Or saith he[ it] altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt,[ this] is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.If we have sown unto you spiritual things,[ is it] a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?If others be partakers of[ this] power over you,[ are] not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live[ of the things] of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for[ it were] better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation[ of the gospel] is committed unto me.

But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
