大司祭及其同黨均撒杜責教徒、忮心滿懷、

Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy.

“先祖嫉妒约瑟，把他卖到埃及去；神却与他同在，

但那不信的犹太人心里嫉妒，招聚了些市井匪类，搭伙成群，耸动合城的人闯进耶孙的家，要将保罗、西拉带到百姓那里。

但犹太人看见人这样多，就满心嫉妒，硬驳保罗所说的话，并且毁谤。

我又见人为一切的劳碌和各样灵巧的工作就被邻舍嫉妒。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

外邦为什么争闹？万民为什么谋算虚妄的事？世上的君王一齐起来，臣宰一同商议，要敌挡耶和华并他的受膏者，说：“我们要挣开他们的捆绑，脱去他们的绳索。”

扫罗惧怕大卫；因为耶和华离开自己，与大卫同在。所以扫罗使大卫离开自己，立他为千夫长，他就领兵出入。大卫做事无不精明，耶和华也与他同在。扫罗见大卫做事精明，就甚怕他。但以色列和犹大众人都爱大卫，因为他领他们出入。

巡抚原知道他们是因为嫉妒才把他解了来。

祭司长和法利赛人聚集公会，说：“这人行好些神迹，我们怎么办呢？若这样由着他，人人都要信他，罗马人也要来夺我们的地土和我们的百姓。”内中有一个人，名叫该亚法，本年作大祭司，对他们说：“你们不知道什么。

忿怒害死愚妄人；嫉妒杀死痴迷人。

忿怒为残忍，怒气为狂澜，惟有嫉妒，谁能敌得住呢？

但祭司长商议连拉撒路也要杀了；

心中安静是肉体的生命；嫉妒是骨中的朽烂。

世上的君王一齐起来，臣宰也聚集，要敌挡主，并主的受膏者。’

你们心里若怀着苦毒的嫉妒和纷争，就不可自夸，也不可说谎话抵挡真道。这样的智慧不是从上头来的，乃是属地的，属情欲的，属鬼魔的。在何处有嫉妒、纷争，就在何处有扰乱和各样的坏事。

法利赛人彼此说：“看哪，你们是徒劳无益，世人都随从他去了。”

惟有几个信徒是法利赛教门的人，起来说：“必须给外邦人行割礼，吩咐他们遵守摩西的律法。”

你们想经上所说是徒然的吗？神所赐、住在我们里面的灵，是恋爱至于嫉妒吗？

使徒对百姓说话的时候，祭司们和守殿官，并撒都该人忽然来了。因他们教训百姓，本着耶稣，传说死人复活，就很烦恼，

所以，你们既除去一切的恶毒、诡诈，并假善、嫉妒，和一切毁谤的话，

嫉妒、醉酒、荒宴等类。我从前告诉你们，现在又告诉你们，行这样事的人必不能承受神的国。

又有大祭司亚那和该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，并大祭司的亲族都在那里，

保罗看出大众一半是撒都该人，一半是法利赛人，就在公会中大声说：“弟兄们，我是法利赛人，也是法利赛人的子孙。我现在受审问，是为盼望死人复活。”说了这话，法利赛人和撒都该人就争论起来，会众分为两党。因为撒都该人说，没有复活，也没有天使和鬼魂；法利赛人却说，两样都有。
