Lord my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands—if I have repaid my ally with evil or without cause have robbed my foe—then let my enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust. (niv)

As they stretched him out to flog him, Paul said to the centurion standing there,“ Is it legal for you to flog a Roman citizen who hasn’t even been found guilty?” (niv)

Just as Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to them,“ If you Jews were making a complaint about some misdemeanor or serious crime, it would be reasonable for me to listen to you. (niv)

But Paul said to the officers:“ They beat us publicly without a trial, even though we are Roman citizens, and threw us into prison. And now do they want to get rid of us quietly? No! Let them come themselves and escort us out.” (niv)

who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyone (niv)
