看哪，你們可以在耶和華和他的受膏者面前指控我：我奪取過誰的牛，奪取過誰的驢子？我欺壓過誰，壓迫過誰？又從誰的手中收取過賄賂，以致我的眼睛被蒙住了？如果是這樣，我必歸還你們。」他們說：「你沒有欺壓過我們，沒有壓迫過我們，也沒有從任何人手中收取過什麼。」撒母耳對他們說：「今天，耶和華在你們中間作見證，他的受膏者也作見證：你們在我的手中沒有找到什麼。」他們說：「願他作見證！」

保羅就說：「我已經站在凱撒的審判臺前，這裡就是我應該受審的地方。我沒有虧負過猶太人，就像您也很清楚地了解那樣。

耶和華我的神哪，如果我做了這事，如果我的手中有不義，如果我惡待那與我和好的人，或是無故掠奪我的敵人，就任憑仇敵追趕我，並且追上！任憑他把我的性命踩踏於地，使我的榮耀歸入塵土！細拉

當士兵們用皮條捆上保羅的時候，他對站在旁邊的百夫長說：「你們鞭打一個沒有被定罪的羅馬公民，可以嗎？」

保羅剛要開口，伽利奧就對猶太人說：「哦，各位猶太人哪！如果這真是什麼罪行或邪惡的案情，我理當容忍你們。

可是保羅對他們說：「我們是羅馬公民，並沒有被定罪，他們卻當眾打我們，把我們投進監獄。現在他們還要悄悄地把我們趕出去嗎？當然不行！讓他們親自來領我們出去！」

這些猶太人不但殺了主耶穌和先知們，也驅逐了我們，並且不討神的喜悅，又與所有的人作對，
