They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.

They have been told that you teach Jews to turn away from the Law of Moses. You teach this to the Jews who live among the Gentiles. They think that you teach those Jews not to circumcise their children. They think that you teach them to give up our Jewish ways.

是那些想要在肉體上誇體面的、才勉強你們受割禮呢；這不過是要避免為基督的十字架受逼迫罷了。因為連那些受割禮的、他們自己也不嚴守律法，卻想要叫你們受割禮，好拿你們的肉體來誇口。至於我呢、我斷不拿別的來誇口，只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架；藉着這十字架，就我而論、世界是釘了十字架了；就世界而論、我也釘了十字架了。受割禮算不了甚麼，沒受割禮也算不了甚麼，惟獨新創造的人最要緊。

喊着說：『以色列人哪，援助吧！這個人就是在各處教訓眾人反對我們的人民、我們的律法和這聖地的。不但如此，他竟帶了希利尼人進殿，使這聖地俗污呢！』

我對眾人雖然自由，卻讓自己做了眾人的僕人，為要贏得更多的人。向猶太人我就成了猶太人，為要贏得猶太人；向律法以下的人、我自己雖不在律法之下，還做律法以下的人，為要贏得律法以下的人。向律法以外的人、我對上帝雖在律法以外，對基督卻在律法以內，我還做律法以外的人，為要贏得律法以外的人。

過了三天、保羅把那些做猶太人領袖的招集了來；他們聚攏來了，保羅就對他們說：『同人弟兄們，論到我、我並沒有作過甚麼事干犯本國的人民或我們祖宗的規矩，竟做了囚犯從耶路撒冷被送交到羅馬人手裏。

基督釋放了我們得自主了。所以你們要站穩，別再被奴役之軛纏住了。請注意，我保羅告訴你們，你們若受割禮，基督就於你們無益了。我再指着每一個受割禮的人確實地說，他是負債該行全律法的。你們這些要靠着律法得稱義的人，你們是跟基督斷絕、從恩典中墮落了。我們是靠着靈、本着信、切候着所盼望之稱義的。因為在基督耶穌裏、受割禮沒有效力，不受割禮也沒有效力，惟獨以愛力行的信才有效力。

信心上軟弱的人、你們要接納，可不要辯論疑惑的事。有人有信心可以喫百物，但也有信心軟弱的人只喫蔬菜。喫的別藐視不喫的了；不喫的也別論斷喫的了；上帝已經接納他。你這論斷別人家僕的，你是誰啊？他或站穩、或跌倒，只和他自己的主人有關；況且他也是會得扶助以站穩的，因為主能使他站穩。有人斷這日比那日強；有人斷日日都一樣；各人自己的心思要把堅確的信念抱定。記念日子的人懷念着主而記念；喫的人懷念着主而喫，因為他感謝上帝；不喫的人也懷念着主而不喫，他也感謝上帝。

所以我以為不可難為外國人中那些轉向上帝的；只要寫信、叫他們禁戒偶像的觸污和淫亂、跟禁喫勒死的動物和血。因為論到摩西嘛、從古代以來，在各城裏自有宣傳他的人，每安息日在會堂裏、他的書都被宣讀着。』

並且設下假見證說：『這個人不停地講話、蹧踐這聖地和律法。我們曾聽見他說這個拿撒勒人耶穌要拆毁這聖地，要改變摩西所傳給我們的規矩。』

有人已受割禮蒙召麼？別回復原狀了；有人在沒受割禮時蒙召麼？別受割禮了。受割禮算不了甚麼，沒受割禮也算不了甚麼，只有遵守上帝的誡命最要緊。

保羅願意這個人同他出去，只因那些地方的猶太人的緣故、就拉他去行割禮；因為他們都知道他父親是希利尼人。
