But many who heard the message believed. The number of men who believed grew to about 5,000.

They praised God. They were respected by all the people. Every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.

They replied,“ Believe in the Lord Jesus. Then you and everyone living in your house will be saved.”They spoke the word of the Lord to him. They also spoke to all the others in his house.At that hour of the night, the jailer took Paul and Silas and washed their wounds. Right away he and everyone who lived with him were baptized.The jailer brought them into his house. He set a meal in front of them. He and everyone who lived with him were filled with joy. They had become believers in God.

When the people heard this, it had a deep effect on them. They said to Peter and the other apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”

When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad. They honored the word of the Lord. All who were appointed for eternal life believed.

The crowds listened to Philip and saw the signs he did. All of them paid close attention to what he said.Evil spirits screamed and came out of many people. Many people who were disabled or who couldn’t walk were healed.So there was great joy in that city.

And my sickness was hard on you. But you weren’t mean to me. You didn’t make fun of me. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God. You welcomed me as if I were Christ Jesus himself.So why aren’t you treating me the same way now? Suppose you could have torn out your own eyes and given them to me. Then you would have done it. I am a witness to this.

In those days Peter stood up among the believers. About 120 of them were there.

Your troops will be willing to fight for you on the day of battle. Your young men will be wrapped in holy majesty. They will come to you like the fresh dew that falls early in the morning.

Simon answered,“ Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”When they had done so, they caught a large number of fish. There were so many that their nets began to break.So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. They came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

What I’m about to tell you is true. Anyone who believes in me will do the works I have been doing. In fact, they will do even greater things. That’s because I am going to the Father.

May there be plenty of grain everywhere in the land. May it sway in the wind on the tops of the hills. May the crops grow well, like those in Lebanon. May they grow like the grass of the field.May the king’s name be remembered forever. May his fame last as long as the sun shines. Then all nations will be blessed because of him. They will call him blessed.

We and the Lord were your examples. You followed us. You welcomed our message even when you were suffering terribly. You welcomed it with the joy the Holy Spirit gives.
