When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.

Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia. Then Paul spent all his time preaching. He was a witness to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.

For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating through the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah.

explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Messiah to suffer and rise from the dead:“ This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah.”

But I am full of the LORD’s wrath; I am tired of holding it back. Pour it out on the children in the street, on the gathering of young men as well. For both husband and wife will be captured, the old with the very old.

I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

For the love of Christ compels us, since we have reached this conclusion, that one died for all, and therefore all died.

The Spirit lifted me up and took me away. I left in bitterness and in an angry spirit, and the LORD’s hand was on me powerfully.

But Saul grew stronger and kept confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.

For I am full of words, and my spirit compels me to speak.My heart is like unvented wine; it is about to burst like new wineskins.I must speak so that I can find relief; I must open my lips and respond.

I say,“ I won’t mention him or speak any longer in his name.” But his message becomes a fire burning in my heart, shut up in my bones. I become tired of holding it in, and I cannot prevail.

“ Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

I am torn between the two. I long to depart and be with Christ— which is far better—

Then the brothers and sisters immediately sent Paul away to go to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed on there.Those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving instructions for Silas and Timothy to come to him as quickly as possible, they departed.While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was deeply distressed when he saw that the city was full of idols.

You yourselves can testify that I said,‘ I am not the Messiah, but I’ve been sent ahead of him.’

During the night Paul had a vision in which a Macedonian man was standing and pleading with him,“ Cross over to Macedonia and help us!”

Then the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, decided to select men who were among them and to send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas, called Barsabbas, and Silas, both leading men among the brothers.

And we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you concerning your faith,

He first found his own brother Simon and told him,“ We have found the Messiah”( which is translated“ the Christ”),

You also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

Through Silvanus, a faithful brother( as I consider him), I have written to you briefly in order to encourage you and to testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!

He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be the judge of the living and the dead.

The Jews surrounded him and asked,“ How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”

Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until an Anointed One, the ruler, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be rebuilt with a plaza and a moat, but in difficult times.After those sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed.

But I have a baptism to undergo, and how it consumes me until it is finished!

As for me, however, I am filled with power by the Spirit of the LORD, with justice and courage, to proclaim to Jacob his rebellion and to Israel his sin.

for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Paul went on to Derbe and Lystra, where there was a disciple named Timothy, the son of a believing Jewish woman, but his father was a Greek.
