由此，彼拉多就想要释放耶稣。可是犹太人喊叫说：“你如果释放这个人，就不是凯撒的朋友了。所有把自己当做王的，就是反对凯撒的！”

传讲我们罗马人不可以接受、也不能遵守的规矩。”

保罗申辩说：“无论是对犹太人的律法，或是对圣殿，或是对凯撒，我都没有犯过罪。”但菲斯特斯想要讨好犹太人，就问保罗说：“你愿意上耶路撒冷，让我在那里审判这些事吗？”保罗就说：“我已经站在凯撒的审判台前，这里就是我应该受审的地方。我没有亏负过犹太人，就像您也很清楚地了解那样。既然如此，如果我行了什么不义的事，犯了什么该死的罪，就是死我也不拒绝；但如果这些人对我的控告不是真的，那么谁也不能把我交给他们。我向凯撒上诉！”

有几个你所指派管理巴比伦省事务的犹太人，就是沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥；王啊，这些人却不理会你的命令，既不事奉你的神，也不向你所立的金像膜拜！”

他们就在王面前回应说：“王啊，犹大被掳之民中的但以理，不理会你的命令，也不理会你所签署的禁令，他仍然一天三次祈祷。”

因为神的旨意就是要你们藉着行善，堵住那些愚妄人无知的口。
