In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

In the past, God didn’t judge people for what they didn’t know. But now he commands all people everywhere to turn away from their sins.

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

“ God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.

“ Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,

So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent,

The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent:

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles— when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.But you have not so learned Christ,if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.Therefore, putting away lying,“ Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.“ Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,nor give place to the devil.Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’“ Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

and saying,“ The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.Therefore do not be partakers with them.For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

So they went out and preached that people should repent.

When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying,“ Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:

Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

and saying,“ Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,

These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes.

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say,“ Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
