立刻在各會堂裏傳揚耶穌，說他是神的兒子。

保羅照他素常的規矩進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，講解和說明基督必須受害，從死人中復活；又說：「我所傳給你們的這位耶穌就是基督。」他們中間有些人聽了勸，就跟從保羅和西拉，還有許多虔敬的希臘人，尊貴的婦女也不少。

他又對他們說：「你們往普天下去，傳福音給萬民聽。

保羅就站起來，做個手勢，說：「諸位以色列人和一切敬畏神的人，請聽。

耶穌看見這一羣人，就上了山，坐下後，門徒到他跟前來，他開口教導他們說：

聽從我，天天在我門口守望，在我門框旁等候的，那人有福了。

同樣的事也發生在以哥念。保羅和巴拿巴進了猶太人的會堂，在那裏講道，所以有很多猶太人和希臘人都信了。但那不順從的猶太人煽動外邦人，使他們心裏仇恨弟兄。二人在那裏住了好些日子，倚靠主放膽講道，主藉他們的手施行神蹟奇事，證明他恩惠的道。城裏的眾人卻分裂了：有依附猶太人的，有依附使徒的。

因此我被耶和華的憤怒充滿，難以忍受。「你要把它倒在街上孩童和成羣的年輕人身上，他們連夫帶妻，年長者與高齡的人都必被擒拿。

智慧在街市上呼喊，在廣場上高聲吶喊，在熱鬧街頭呼叫，在城門口，在城中，發出言語，說：「你們無知的人喜愛無知，傲慢人喜歡傲慢，愚昧人恨惡知識，要到幾時呢？

那時人會專愛自己，貪愛錢財，自誇，狂傲，毀謗，違背父母，忘恩負義，心不聖潔，

有些虔誠的人把司提反埋葬了，為他大大哀哭。

他是個虔誠人，他和全家都敬畏神。他多多賙濟百姓，常常向神禱告。

有敬虔的外貌，卻背棄了敬虔的實質，這等人你要避開。
