聽眾中有個賣紫色布匹的婦人名叫呂底亞，是推雅推喇城的人，向來敬拜上帝。上帝開啟她的心，她便留心聽保羅講道。

派提摩太去你們那裡。他在傳揚基督福音的事工上是我們的弟兄、上帝的同工。他去是要鼓勵你們，使你們信心堅定，免得有人因遭受這些患難而動搖，因為你們知道我們必遭受患難。

堅固各地門徒的信心，鼓勵他們要持守信仰，並且說：「我們在進入上帝國的道路上必經歷許多苦難。」

彼得和約翰被釋放之後，就去找其他信徒，把祭司長和長老的話都告訴大家。

所以，我們不氣餒。身體雖然日漸衰殘，內在的生命卻日日更新。我們這短暫輕微的苦難正在為我們成就極大無比、永遠的榮耀。我們注重的，並非看得見的事物，而是看不見的事物，因為看得見的事物都是暫時的，看不見的事物才是永恆的。

我們主耶穌基督的父上帝當受讚美！祂是仁慈的父和賜一切安慰的上帝。我們遭遇任何患難，祂都安慰我們，使我們能夠用祂給我們的安慰去安慰那些在各樣患難中的人。正如我們多受基督所受的苦楚，也靠基督多得安慰。我們遭受患難，是為了使你們得到安慰和拯救；我們得到安慰，也是為了使你們得到安慰，以便你們能忍受像我們所遭遇的諸般苦難。我們對你們堅信不移，因為知道你們既和我們同受患難，也必和我們同得安慰。

他清醒後，便到約翰·馬可的母親瑪麗亞家，很多人正集在那裡禱告。彼得在外面敲門，有一個叫羅大的婢女出來應門。她聽出是彼得的聲音，喜出望外，竟然沒有開門就跑進去告訴大家：「彼得在門外！」他們說：「你一定瘋了。」她堅持說：「是真的！」他們就說：「是他的天使吧！」彼得不住地敲門。他們開門看見他，都大吃一驚！彼得擺手示意他們安靜，然後把主怎樣領他出獄的經過告訴大家，又說：「把這事告訴雅各和其他弟兄姊妹。」交待完了，他便離開那裡，往其他地方去了。

路司得和以哥念的弟兄姊妹都稱讚提摩太。
