After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

經云：厥事之後吾當歸、重建大維之殘帷。收拾廢墟築新宅、萬象煥然映朝輝。

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.It shall be established for ever as the moon, and[ as] a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown[ by casting it] to the ground.Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?What man[ is he that] liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.Lord, where[ are] thy former lovingkindnesses,[ which] thou swarest unto David in thy truth?

So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither[ have we] inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.

And as since the time that I commanded judges[ to be] over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took[ it] from Saul, whom I put away before thee.And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.Of the increase of[ his] government and peace[ there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set[ it]; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant[ it] upon an high mountain and eminent:In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done[ it].

And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

And it shall come to pass,[ that] in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off[ and] die; but the third shall be left therein.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant[ be] not with day and night,[ and if] I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant,[ so] that I will not take[ any] of his seed[ to be] rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
