夜間，主在異象中對保羅說：「不要怕，只管講，不要閉口，有我與你同在，必沒有人下手害你，因為在這城裏我有許多的百姓。」保羅在那裏住了一年零六個月，將神的道教訓他們。

但我要仍舊住在以弗所，直等到五旬節；因為有寬大又有功效的門為我開了，並且反對的人也多。

我們為這事作見證；神賜給順從之人的聖靈也為這事作見證。」

主藉使徒的手在民間行了許多神蹟奇事；他們都同心合意地在所羅門的廊下。其餘的人沒有一個敢貼近他們，百姓卻尊重他們。信而歸主的人越發增添，連男帶女很多。

「以色列人哪，請聽我的話：神藉着拿撒勒人耶穌在你們中間施行異能、奇事、神蹟，將他證明出來，這是你們自己知道的。

耶穌就對他說：「若不看見神蹟奇事，你們總是不信。」
