七日將完的時候，從亞西亞來的猶太人看見保羅在殿裡，就煽動群眾，並且捉住他，

散會以後，許多猶太人和歸信猶太教的虔誠人，跟從了保羅和巴拿巴。兩人對他們談話，勉勵他們要恆久住在神的恩典中。

亞瑪謝對阿摩司說：“你這個先見，走吧！滾回猶大地去；在那裡你可以找食，在那裡你可以說預言。

我親愛的弟兄們，請聽：神不是揀選了在世上被認為貧窮的人嗎？這些人卻在信心上富足，而且是承受神的國的人。這國是神應許賜給愛他的人的。然而你們卻侮辱窮人。其實，那些欺壓你們，拉你們上法庭的，不就是富足的人嗎？

又煽動民眾、長老、經學家，這些人就來捉拿他，把他帶到公議會，

那時住在耶路撒冷的，有從天下各國來的虔誠的猶太人。

我可以為他們作證，他們對神有熱心，但不是按著真見識；

只是從來沒有人像亞哈的；他受了他妻子耶洗別的引誘，出賣了他自己，行耶和華看為惡的事。

因耶和華的話而戰兢的人哪！你們要聽他的話。他說：“你們的兄弟，就是那些憎恨你們、因我的名趕走你們的，曾說：‘願耶和華得榮耀；讓我們看見你們的喜樂。’他們卻要蒙羞。

如果有人在這城迫害你們，就逃到別的城去。我實在告訴你們，你們還沒有走遍以色列的各城，人子就來到了。

保羅對他們說：“我們是羅馬人，還沒有定罪，他們就公開打我們，又放在監裡；現在要私下趕我們出去嗎？不行！他們應當親自來，領我們出去！”法警把這番話回報裁判官，裁判官聽說他們是羅馬人，就害怕起來，於是來請求他們，領他們出監之後，就請他們離開那城。

弟兄們，你們想想，你們這些蒙召的，按人（“人”或譯：“世上的標準”、“世界的標準”）來看有智慧的不多，有權勢的不多，出身尊貴的也不多。但是神卻揀選了世上愚笨的，使那些有智慧的羞愧。他也揀選了世上軟弱的，使那些剛強的羞愧。他也揀選了世上卑賤的和被人輕視的，以及算不得甚麼的，為了要廢棄那些自以為是的，使所有的人在神面前都不能自誇。

他們就要求耶穌離開他們的地區。

這些猶太人殺了主耶穌和眾先知，又把我們趕出來。他們得不到神的喜悅，並且和所有的人作對，阻撓我們向外族人傳道，不讓他們得救，以致惡貫滿盈。神的忿怒終必臨到他們身上。

司提反被害，掃羅也欣然同意。從那天起，耶路撒冷的教會大受迫害；除了使徒以外，所有的人都分散到猶太和撒瑪利亞各地。
