After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross- examined the guards and ordered that they be executed. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

So Herod had them look everywhere for Peter. But they didn’t find him. Then Herod questioned the guards closely. He ordered that they be put to death. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

And after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there.

禁卒一醒，看见监门全开，以为囚犯已经逃走，就拔刀要自杀。

末底改仍回到朝门，哈曼却忧忧闷闷地蒙着头，急忙回家去了，

希律拿了彼得，收在监里，交付四班兵丁看守，每班四个人，意思要在逾越节后把他提出来，当着百姓办他。

但祭司长商议连拉撒路也要杀了；因有好些犹太人为拉撒路的缘故，回去信了耶稣。

后来有人在亚锁都遇见腓利；他走遍那地方，在各城宣传福音，直到凯撒利亚。

他们去后，有主的使者向约瑟梦中显现，说：“起来！带着小孩子同他母亲逃往埃及，住在那里，等我吩咐你；因为希律必寻找小孩子，要除灭他。”

王所问的事甚难。除了不与世人同居的神明，没有人在王面前能说出来。”因此，王气忿忿地大发烈怒，吩咐灭绝巴比伦所有的哲士。于是命令发出，哲士将要见杀，人就寻找但以理和他的同伴，要杀他们。

兵丁的意思要把囚犯杀了，恐怕有洑水脱逃的。

恶人窥探义人，想要杀他。耶和华必不撇他在恶人手中；当审判的时候，也不定他的罪。

王就吩咐哈米勒的儿子耶拉篾和亚斯列的儿子西莱雅，并亚伯叠的儿子示利米雅，去捉拿文士巴录和先知耶利米。耶和华却将他们隐藏。

于是以色列王闷闷不乐地回到撒玛利亚，进了他的宫。

她们去的时候，看守的兵有几个进城去，将所经历的事都报给祭司长。祭司长和长老聚集商议，就拿许多银钱给兵丁，说：“你们要这样说：‘夜间我们睡觉的时候，他的门徒来，把他偷去了。’倘若这话被巡抚听见，有我们劝他，保你们无事。”兵丁受了银钱，就照所嘱咐他们的去行。这话就传说在犹太人中间，直到今日。

希律见自己被博士愚弄，就大大发怒，差人将伯利恒城里并四境所有的男孩，照着他向博士仔细查问的时候，凡两岁以里的，都杀尽了。

第二天，我们离开那里，来到凯撒利亚，就进了传福音的腓利家里，和他同住。他是那七个执事里的一个。

过了些日子，亚基帕王和百尼基氏来到凯撒利亚，问非斯都安。

大卫住在旷野的山寨里，常在西弗旷野的山地。扫罗天天寻索大卫，神却不将大卫交在他手里。

希律将要提他出来的前一夜，彼得被两条铁链锁着，睡在两个兵丁当中；看守的人也在门外看守。
