But I said,‘ Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

我曰、主、斷乎不可、凡俗物及不潔之物、從未入我口、

予曰：「主、不可、俗物不潔、予未嘗入口也。」

“ I replied,‘ Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’

But I said,‘ By no means, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’

“‘ No, Lord,’ I replied.‘ I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure or unclean.’

“‘ No, Lord!’ I said.‘ For nothing impure or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth.’

But I said,‘ By no means, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’

But I said,‘ Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.

“‘ No, Lord!’ I said.‘ For nothing common or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

But I said,‘ Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’

I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean in itself; still, it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean.

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.

to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between the living creatures that may be eaten and the living creatures that must not be eaten.’”

They will not remain in the LORD’s land. Ephraim will return to Egypt; they will eat ritually unclean food in Assyria.

as well as to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean,

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified because of the wife, and the unbelieving wife because of her husband. Otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.

which you commanded us through your servants the prophets with these words:‘ The land that you are entering to possess is a land defiled by the impurities of the local residents! With their abominations they have filled it from one end to the other with their filthiness.Therefore do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons, and do not take their daughters in marriage for your sons. Do not ever seek their peace or welfare, so that you may be strong and may eat the good of the land and may leave it as an inheritance for your children forever.’
