He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say,‘ Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter.

高乃流曰：『四日前、申刻、予禱於家、忽有一人、所服光明燦爛、立予前、曰：「高乃流、汝之祈禱已達天聽、汝之賑恤已為上主所垂念矣。汝當遣人往約帕、邀別號伯鐸祿之西門者至、渠寓於海濱革工西門家中。」

對曰：『巴總高乃流、正人也、敬畏上主、為猶太舉國之所稱道、近蒙聖天神指示、邀汝至其家、俾聆汝教。』

某日申刻、高乃流得異示、見一天主使者入其室、呼之曰：『高乃流！』高乃流注目駭視曰：『主、何事？』天神曰：『爾祈禱施濟、上達天聽、已蒙垂鑒。今當遣人往約帕、迎西門別號伯鐸祿者至、其人現寓海濱革工西門之家。』

伯鐸祿憬悟曰：『予今乃真知主遣天神援予於希祿之手、而脫我於猶太人之所冀也。』

彼天神者、實悉為供職之神、天主所遣、以扶掖蒙救者耳。
