耶稣从那里往前走，看见一个人，名叫马太，坐在税关那里，就对他说：“来跟从我！”他就起来跟从了耶稣。耶稣在屋里吃饭的时候，有很多税吏和罪人来与他和门徒一起吃饭。

耶稣不许，却对他说：“你回家到你的亲属那里去，把主为你作了多么大的事，并他怎样怜悯你，都告诉他们。”那人就走了，开始在低加波利传讲耶稣为他所作的大事，众人都希奇。

利未在自己家里，为他大摆筵席，有许多税吏和别的人一起吃饭。

他先找到自己的哥哥西门，告诉他：“我们遇见弥赛亚了！”（“弥赛亚”的意思就是“基督”。）安得烈就带他到耶稣那里。耶稣定睛看着他，说：“你是约翰的儿子西门，你要称为矶法。”（“矶法”翻译出来就是“彼得”。）再过一天，耶稣决定往加利利去；他遇见腓力，就对他说：“来跟从我！”腓力是伯赛大人，与安得烈和彼得同乡。腓力找到拿但业，告诉他：“摩西在律法书上所写的，和众先知所记的那位，我们已经遇见了，他就是约瑟的儿子拿撒勒人耶稣。”拿但业说：“拿撒勒还能出什么好的吗？”腓力说：“你来看！”耶稣看见拿但业向他走过来，就论到他说：“看哪，这的确是个以色列人，他心里没有诡诈。”拿但业问他：“你怎么认识我呢？”耶稣回答：“腓力还没有招呼你，你在无花果树下的时候，我就看见你了。”拿但业说：“拉比，你是神的儿子，你是以色列的王！”

到那日（这是万军之耶和华的宣告），你们各人要邀请自己的邻舍来，坐在葡萄树下和无花果树下。’”

“万军之耶和华这样说：‘将来还有万族的人和多个城市的居民要来。一城的居民到另一城去，对他们说：我们快去恳求耶和华施恩，求告万军之耶和华；我自己也去。必有很多的民族和强大的国家前来，在耶路撒冷求告万军之耶和华，恳求他施恩。’“万军之耶和华这样说：‘在那些日子，必有十个说不同方言，来自列国的人，紧抓住一个犹大人的衣襟，说：让我们与你们同去吧，因为我们听见神与你们同在。’”

必有多国的人前来，说：“来吧！我们上耶和华的山，登雅各神的殿；他必把他的道指教我们，我们也必遵行他的路。”因为训诲必出于锡安，耶和华的话必来自耶路撒冷。

太初有道，道与神同在，道就是神。这道太初与神同在。万有是藉着他造的；凡被造的，没有一样不是藉着他造的。

那妇人撇下了她的水罐，进到城里去，对众人说：“你们来，看看一个人，他把我所作的一切都说出来，难道这人就是基督吗？”

后来有人在亚锁都遇见腓利。他走遍各城，传讲福音，直到该撒利亚。
