After saying this, He told him,“ Follow Me!”So Peter turned around and saw the disciple Jesus loved following them. That disciple was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and asked,“ Lord, who is the one that’s going to betray You?”When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus,“ Lord— what about him?”“ If I want him to remain until I come,” Jesus answered,“ what is that to you? As for you, follow Me.”So this report spread to the brothers that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but,“ If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.

Therefore, when Jesus looked up and noticed a huge crowd coming toward Him, He asked Philip,“ Where will we buy bread so these people can eat?”He asked this to test him, for He Himself knew what He was going to do.Philip answered,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread wouldn’t be enough for each of them to have a little.”

Motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he explained to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison.“ Report these things to James and the brothers,” he said. Then he departed and went to a different place.

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and He said to him,“ Follow Me!”So, leaving everything behind, he got up and began to follow Him.Then Levi hosted a grand banquet for Him at his house. Now there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others who were guests with them.

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves to be alone. He was transformed in front of them,

But Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice, and proclaimed to them:“ Men of Judah and all you residents of Jerusalem, let me explain this to you and pay attention to my words.

Simon Peter, Thomas( called“ Twin”), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of His disciples were together.

After they stopped speaking, James responded:“ Brothers, listen to me!

One of His disciples, the one Jesus loved, was reclining close beside Jesus.Simon Peter motioned to him to find out who it was He was talking about.So he leaned back against Jesus and asked Him,“ Lord, who is it?”

After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them:“ Brothers, you are aware that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the gospel message and believe.And God, who knows the heart, testified to them by giving the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us.He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.Now then, why are you testing God by putting a yoke on the disciples’ necks that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear?On the contrary, we believe we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way they are.”

Then the slave girl who was the doorkeeper said to Peter,“ You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?”“ I am not!” he said.

But I didn’t see any of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.

He did not let anyone accompany Him except Peter, James, and John, James’s brother.

The revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave Him to show His slaves what must quickly take place. He sent it and signified it through His angel to His slave John,who testified to God’s word and to the testimony about Jesus Christ, in all he saw.The one who reads this is blessed, and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep what is written in it are blessed, because the time is near!

Then Thomas( called“ Twin”) said to his fellow disciples,“ Let’s go so that we may die with Him.”

As He was walking along the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, since they were fishermen.“ Follow Me,” He told them,“ and I will make you fish for people!”Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and He called them.Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him.

When daylight came, He summoned His disciples, and He chose 12 of them— He also named them apostles:Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot;Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Now Peter and John were going up together to the temple complex at the hour of prayer at three in the afternoon.And a man who was lame from birth was carried there and placed every day at the temple gate called Beautiful, so he could beg from those entering the temple complex.When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple complex, he asked for help.Peter, along with John, looked at him intently and said,“ Look at us.”So he turned to them, expecting to get something from them.But Peter said,“ I don’t have silver or gold, but what I have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong.So he jumped up, stood, and started to walk, and he entered the temple complex with them— walking, leaping, and praising God.All the people saw him walking and praising God,and they recognized that he was the one who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the temple complex. So they were filled with awe and astonishment at what had happened to him.

After eight days His disciples were indoors again, and Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them. He said,“ Peace to you!”Then He said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here and observe My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Don’t be an unbeliever, but a believer.”Thomas responded to Him,“ My Lord and my God!”Jesus said,“ Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Those who believe without seeing are blessed.”

But Peter and John answered them,“ Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide;

The next day, as they were traveling and nearing the city, Peter went up to pray on the housetop about noon.Then he became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing something, he went into a visionary state.He saw heaven opened and an object that resembled a large sheet coming down, being lowered by its four corners to the earth.In it were all the four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth, and the birds of the sky.Then a voice said to him,“ Get up, Peter; kill and eat!”“ No, Lord!” Peter said.“ For I have never eaten anything common and ritually unclean!”Again, a second time, a voice said to him,“ What God has made clean, you must not call common.”This happened three times, and then the object was taken up into heaven.While Peter was deeply perplexed about what the vision he had seen might mean, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions to Simon’s house, stood at the gate.They called out, asking if Simon, who was also named Peter, was lodging there.While Peter was thinking about the vision, the Spirit told him,“ Three men are here looking for you.Get up, go downstairs, and accompany them with no doubts at all, because I have sent them.”Then Peter went down to the men and said,“ Here I am, the one you’re looking for. What is the reason you’re here?”They said,“ Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who has a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation, was divinely directed by a holy angel to call you to his house and to hear a message from you.”Peter then invited them in and gave them lodging. The next day he got up and set out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went with him.The following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him.But Peter helped him up and said,“ Stand up! I myself am also a man.”While talking with him, he went on in and found that many had come together there.Peter said to them,“ You know it’s forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner. But God has shown me that I must not call any person common or unclean.That’s why I came without any objection when I was sent for. So I ask: Why did you send for me?”Cornelius replied,“ Four days ago at this hour, at three in the afternoon, I was praying in my house. Just then a man in a dazzling robe stood before meand said,‘ Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered in God’s sight.Therefore send someone to Joppa and invite Simon here, who is also named Peter. He is lodging in Simon the tanner’s house by the sea.’Therefore I immediately sent for you, and you did the right thing in coming. So we are all present before God, to hear everything you have been commanded by the Lord.”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him,“ You aren’t one of His disciples too, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not!”One of the high priest’s slaves, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, said,“ Didn’t I see you with Him in the garden?”Peter then denied it again. Immediately a rooster crowed.

and he killed James, John’s brother, with the sword.When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too, during the days of Unleavened Bread.

When the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had welcomed God’s message, they sent Peter and John to them.After they went down there, they prayed for them, so the Samaritans might receive the Holy Spirit.For He had not yet come down on any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.When Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,saying,“ Give me this power too, so that anyone I lay hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”But Peter told him,“ May your silver be destroyed with you, because you thought the gift of God could be obtained with money!You have no part or share in this matter, because your heart is not right before God.Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.For I see you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”“ Please pray to the Lord for me,” Simon replied,“ so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”Then, after they had testified and spoken the message of the Lord, they traveled back to Jerusalem, evangelizing many villages of the Samaritans.

When James, Cephas, and John, recognized as pillars, acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

So they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him,“ Sir, we want to see Jesus.”Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus.

He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be deeply distressed and horrified.

Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard John and followed Him.He first found his own brother Simon and told him,“ We have found the Messiah!”( which means“ Anointed One”),and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, He said,“ You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which means“ Rock”).The next day He decided to leave for Galilee. Jesus found Philip and told him,“ Follow Me!”Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the hometown of Andrew and Peter.Philip found Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law( and so did the prophets): Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth!”“ Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Nathanael asked him.“ Come and see,” Philip answered.
