No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.

A soldier does not take part in things that don’t have anything to do with the army. Instead, he tries to please his commanding officer.

又謂一人曰：『從予！』其人對曰：『主容吾先行歸葬吾父。』耶穌曰：『任彼死者葬死者、爾但宣揚天主國。』又一人曰：『吾願從主、第求許我別家人。』耶穌曰：『手既扶犂、又後顧、不堪擔當天主國。』

若夫孳孳為利之人、徒自陷於誘惑、墮入羅網、顛冥昏昧、縱情恣慾、終至沉溺淪亡而後已。信哉、貪財乃萬惡之根也。頗有因求財之故、而離棄正道流入岐途、終至自求辛螫、百慮刺心者焉。汝乃天主之人、自應避免此等之事、一心惟公義、至誠、信德、愛德、耐德、謙德、是務、振作精神、為道奮鬥、把握永生、無忝汝之聖召、無負汝曩日當眾發表之弘願。
