David also defeated the Moabites. He made them lie down on the ground and measured them off with a length of cord. Every two lengths of them were put to death, and the third length was allowed to live. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought him tribute.

David also won the battle over the people of Moab. He made them lie down on the ground. Then he measured them off with a piece of rope. He put two- thirds of them to death. He let the other third remain alive. So the Moabites were brought under David’s rule. They gave him the gifts he required them to bring him.

And he defeated Moab and he measured them with a line, making them lie down on the ground. Two lines he measured to be put to death, and one full line to be spared. And the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.

于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰设立军营，亚兰人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。

摩押是我的沐浴盆，我要向以东扔鞋。非利士啊，你还能因我欢呼吗？”

就是从亚兰、摩押、亚扪人、非利士人、亚玛力人，以及从利合的儿子琐巴王哈大底谢所掠之物。大卫得了名声。当他回来的时候，在盐谷击杀了一万八千以东人。大卫在以东设立军营；他在全以东设立军营，以东人就都臣服他。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。

他又攻打摩押，摩押人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。

你们不要听希西家的话！因亚述王如此说：‘你们要与我讲和，出来投降，各人就可以吃自己葡萄树和无花果树的果子，喝自己井里的水，

摩押王米沙牧养许多羊，曾向以色列王进贡十万羔羊和十万公绵羊的毛。亚哈死后，摩押王背叛以色列王。那时约兰王出撒玛利亚，数点以色列众人。他向前行，派人到犹大王约沙法那里，说：“摩押王背叛我，你肯同我去攻打摩押吗？”约沙法说：“我肯上去，你我不分彼此，我的军队就是你的军队，我的马就是你的马。”然后约沙法说：“我们从哪条路上去呢？”约兰说：“从以东旷野的路上去。”于是，以色列王和犹大王，以及以东王，都一同去。他们绕行了七日的路程，军队和所带的牲畜都没有水喝。以色列王说：“哀哉！耶和华召集我们这三王，是要交在摩押人的手里。”约沙法说：“这里不是有耶和华的先知吗？我们可以托他求问耶和华。”以色列王的一个大臣回答说：“这里有沙法的儿子以利沙，就是从前服事以利亚的。”约沙法说：“他必有耶和华的话。”于是以色列王、约沙法和以东王都下去见他。以利沙对以色列王说：“我跟你有什么关系呢？去问你父亲的先知和你母亲的先知吧！”以色列王对他说：“不，因为耶和华召集我们这三王，是要交在摩押人的手里。”以利沙说：“我指着所事奉永生的万军之耶和华起誓，我若不看犹大王约沙法的情面，必不理你，不睬你。现在你们给我找一个弹琴的人来。”弹琴的人弹奏的时候，耶和华的手就按在以利沙身上。他就说：“耶和华如此说：‘你们要在这谷中到处挖沟。’因为耶和华如此说：‘你们虽不见风，也不见雨，这谷却必满了水，使你们和你们的牛羊牲畜都有水喝。’在耶和华眼中这还算是小事，他也必将摩押人交在你们手中。你们必攻破一切堡垒和美好的城镇，砍伐各种好树，塞住一切水泉，用石头毁坏一切良田。”到了早晨，约在献祭的时候，看哪，有水从以东而来，遍地就满了水。摩押众人听见这三王上来要与他们打仗，凡能束上腰带的，无论老少，都被召集站在边界上。摩押人清早起来，日光照在水上，他们看见对面水红如血，就说：“这是血啊！必是三王互相击杀，全都灭亡了。摩押人哪，我们现在去抢夺财物吧！”摩押人到了以色列营，以色列人起来攻打他们，他们就在以色列人面前逃跑。以色列人追杀摩押人，直杀入摩押境内。他们拆毁摩押的城镇，各人抛石头填满一切良田，塞住一切水泉，砍伐各种好树，只剩下吉珥‧哈列设的石墙，但甩石的兵仍然包围攻打那城。摩押王见战事激烈，对他不利，就率领七百个拿刀的兵，想突围逃到以东王那里，却没有成功。于是他在城墙上，把那应当接续他作王的长子献为燔祭。有极大的愤怒临到以色列，于是三王离开摩押王，各自回本地去了。

米乌尼人向乌西雅进贡。他的名声传到埃及，因他非常强盛。

他施和海岛的王要进贡，示巴和西巴的王要献礼物。众王都要叩拜他，万国都要事奉他。

扫罗执掌以色列的国权，攻打他四围所有的仇敌，就是摩押人、亚扪人、以东人和琐巴诸王，以及非利士人。他无论往何处去，都打败他们。

亚述王撒缦以色上来攻击何细亚，何细亚就服事他，向他进贡。

那时，他们击杀了约一万摩押人，都是强壮的勇士，连一个也没有逃脱。那日，摩押在以色列手下制伏了。于是这地太平八十年。

摩押是我的沐浴盆，我要向以东扔鞋，我必因胜非利士而欢呼。”

亚哈死后，摩押背叛以色列。

把城里的百姓拉出来，叫他们用锯，用铁耙，用铁斧做工，派他们在砖窑中服役；大卫待亚扪各城的居民都是如此。于是，大卫和全军都回耶路撒冷去了。
