Benaiah son of Jehoiada was captain of the king’s bodyguard. And David’s sons served as priestly leaders.

耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅是來自甲薛的勇士，曾行了大事。他殺了摩押人亞利伊勒的兩個兒子，又在下雪的時候下到坑裏去，殺了一隻獅子。他又殺了一個魁梧的埃及人；埃及人手裏拿着槍。比拿雅只拿着棍子下到他那裏去，從埃及人手裏奪過槍來，用那槍殺死了他。這些是耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅所做的事，就在三個勇士裏得了名。他比那三十個勇士更有名望，只是不及前三個勇士。大衛立他作護衛長。

禍哉，住沿海之地的基利提人！迦南、非利士人之地啊，耶和華的話攻擊你們：我必毀滅你，以致無人居住。

睚珥人以拉也作大衛的祭司。

於是耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅上去，擊殺約押，殺死他，把他葬在曠野約押自己的家裏。王就立耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅作元帥，代替約押，又使撒督祭司代替亞比亞他。

耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅作元帥，撒督和亞比亞他作祭司，

所以主耶和華如此說：看哪，我要伸手攻擊非利士人，剪除基利提人，滅絕沿海剩餘的居民。
