King David dedicated these articles to the Lord, as he had done with the silver and gold from all the nations he had subdued:

King David set those gifts apart for the Lord. He had done the same thing with the silver and gold he had taken from the other nations. Those were nations he had brought under his control.

看哪，我辛苦地為耶和華的殿預備了十萬他連得金子，一百萬他連得銀子，銅和鐵多得無法可秤；我也預備了木頭、石頭，你還可以增添。你有許多工匠，就是石匠、木匠，和一切能做各樣工的巧匠，以及無數的金銀銅鐵。你當起來做工，願耶和華與你同在。」

錫安哪，起來踹穀吧！我必使你的角成為鐵，使你的蹄成為銅。你必打碎許多民族，將他們的財寶獻給耶和華，將他們的財富獻給全地的主。

大衛王把這些器皿，以及從各國奪來的金銀，就是從以東、摩押、亞捫人、非利士人、亞瑪力所奪來的，都分別為聖獻給耶和華。

我為我神的殿已經盡力，預備金子做金器，銀子做銀器，銅做銅器，鐵做鐵器，木做木器，還有紅瑪瑙、可鑲嵌的寶石、彩石、各樣的寶石和許多大理石。

這示羅密和他的兄弟管理一切庫房的聖物，就是大衛王和眾族長、千夫長、百夫長，以及軍官所分別為聖之物。他們把打仗時奪取的一些財物分別為聖，用來修造耶和華的殿。凡撒母耳先見、基士的兒子掃羅、尼珥的兒子押尼珥、洗魯雅的兒子約押分別為聖的，一切分別為聖之物都歸示羅密和他的兄弟掌管。
