He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite.

He didn’t want to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom. Obed- Edom was from Gath.

So David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord into the city of David. But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David decided not to move the Ark of the Lord into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed edom of Gath.

So he was not willing to bring the ark of the LORD to the city of David; instead, he diverted it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.

And David was unwilling to move the ark of the Lord into the city of David with him; but David took it aside to the house of Obed edom, the Gittite.

So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed- edom the Gittite.

So he was not willing to move the ark of the Lord to the city of David; instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

So David was no longer willing to bring the ark of the LORD to be with him in the City of David. David left it in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not move Yahweh’s ark to be with him in David’s city; but David carried it aside into Obed- Edom the Gittite’s house.

俄別．以東有幾個兒子：長子是示瑪雅、次子是約薩拔、三子是約亞，四子是沙甲、五子是拿坦業、六子是亞米利、七子是以薩迦、八子是毘烏利太；神實在賜福給俄別．以東。他的兒子示瑪雅也生了幾個兒子，都是管治他們的家族的，因為他們都是英勇的戰士。示瑪雅的兒子是俄得尼、利法益、俄備得和以利薩巴。以利薩巴的兄弟以利戶和西瑪迦都是勇士。這些人都是俄別．以東的子孫，他們和他們的兒子、兄弟，都是有能力辦事的人。俄別．以東的子孫，共有六十二人。

王對迦特人以太說：“你為甚麼也與我們一同走呢？回去留在新王那裡吧！因為你是個外族人，是個遠離自己家鄉逃到這裡來的人。

領導的人是亞薩，其次是撒迦利雅、耶利、示米拉末、耶歇、瑪他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄別．以東和耶利，他們鼓瑟彈琴，亞薩敲打響鈸。

和他們一起的還有作第二班的，他們的親族：撒迦利雅、便、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅，以及守門的俄別．以東和耶利。

大衛派遣眾人出戰：三分之一在約押手下，三分之一在約押的兄弟、洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩手下，三分之一在迦特人以太手下。大衛對眾人說：“我也必與你們一同出戰。”

所以，大衛沒有把約櫃運到大衛城他自己那裡去，卻轉運到迦特人俄別．以東的家裡去。神的約櫃存放在俄別．以東的家裡三個月，耶和華賜福給俄別．以東的家和他的一切。
