推羅王希蘭與大闢善、後聞人以膏沐所羅門、繼父為王、則遣人入覲。所羅門亦遣人告希蘭曰、

所羅門及希蘭之匠、暨吉利人備木石、以建殿宇。

彼曰、廣廈崇室、余必搆造、啟其窗牗、以柏香木為板、塗以丹艧。耶和華曰、爾雖以柏香木為板、以示華美、豈得恆居王位。爾父日用飲食、躬行仁義、而享福祉、彼為貧乏伸冤、既識我道、遂得亨通、

遣人告所羅門曰、爾所請者、我已聞之、爾欲得柏香木及松木、我將予焉。我僕將舁之、自利巴嫩至海濱、乘桴浮海、至爾所指之地、在彼給爾、爾以食物供我僕役、任我所欲。希蘭以柏香木松木予所羅門、隨其所欲。

諭先知拿單曰、我居之宮、以柏香木創造、而上帝之匱、反在幔中。

所羅門創建宮室、歷至十三年、始竣其工。又建一宅、名曰利巴嫩林、深十丈、廣五丈、高三丈、有柱四行、其上俱有棟梁、悉柏香木所製。棟梁之上、以柏香木為蓋、柱計四十有五、行各十五。有牖三行、光明之處、遙與相對。眾牖與橛、形製維方、各有三行、明徹之處、遙與相對。更建一廊、承之以柱、深五丈、廣三丈、廊柱之前有階。又建一廊、其中有座、坐以鞫民、自下及上、飾以柏香木。所居之宮有廊、與鞫民之廊無異、廊後有院。所羅門亦為所娶法老之女作宮、制度與此廊相同。宮之內外、自基及上、以及大院、皆用珍貴之石、其形維方、循其量度、以鋸剖之、基即珍貴之石、其形甚巨、或長一丈者有之、或長八尺者有之、基之上亦用珍貴之石、其形維方、循其量度、亦有柏香木。四周大院、有雕石三行、柏香木一行、在耶和華殿之內院、及殿廊、俱同斯製。○
