They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ish- Bosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to King David at Hebron. They said to him,“ Here’s the head of Ish- Bosheth, the son of Saul. Saul was your enemy. He often tried to kill you. Today the Lord has paid back Saul and his family. He has let you get even with them. You are our king and master.”

and brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David at Hebron. And they said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ish-bosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life. The Lord has avenged my lord the king this day on Saul and on his offspring.”

When they arrived at Hebron, they presented Ishbosheth’s head to David.“ Look!” they exclaimed to the king.“ Here is the head of Ishbosheth, the son of your enemy Saul who tried to kill you. Today the Lord has given my lord the king revenge on Saul and his entire family!”

They brought Ish-bosheth’s head to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here’s the head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who intended to take your life. Today the LORD has granted vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

Then they brought the head of Ish bosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Behold, the head of Ish bosheth the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life; so the Lord has given my lord the king vengeance this day on Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul your enemy, who sought your life; and the Lord has avenged my Lord the king this day of Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ish- bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold, the head of Ish- bosheth, the son of Saul, thine enemy, who sought thy life; and Jehovah hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

雖有人起來追逼你，要尋索你的性命，我主的性命在耶和華－你的神那裏，如同藏在生命的寶藏中。至於你仇敵的性命，耶和華必甩去，如用機弦甩石一樣。

大衛看到掃羅出來尋索他的命。那時，他住在西弗曠野的樹林裏；

掃羅又派一些使者去看大衛，說：「把他連床一起抬到我這裏，我好殺他。」

大衛的人對大衛說：「看哪，這日子到了！耶和華曾對你說：『看哪，我要將你的仇敵交在你手裏，你可以照你看為好的對待他。』」大衛就起來，悄悄地割下掃羅外袍的衣角。

掃羅把槍一擲，心裏說：「我要將大衛刺透，釘在牆上。」大衛閃避了他兩次。

撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯說：「讓我跑去報信給王，耶和華已經為王伸冤，使他脫離仇敵的手了。」

約拿單告訴大衛說：「我父掃羅想要殺你，現在你要小心，明日早晨留在一個僻靜的地方藏起來。我會出去，到你所藏的田裏，站在我父親旁邊，與父親談論到你。我看情形怎樣，會告訴你。」約拿單向他父親掃羅說大衛的好話，對他說：「王不可得罪王的僕人大衛，因為他未曾得罪你，他所行的對你都很有益處。他拚了命殺那非利士人，並且耶和華為全以色列大施拯救。那時你看見，也很歡喜，現在為何要犯罪，流無辜人的血，無緣無故殺大衛呢？」掃羅聽了約拿單的話，就指着永生的耶和華起誓：「我絕不殺他。」約拿單叫大衛來，把這一切事告訴他。約拿單帶他去見掃羅，他就像以前一樣侍立在掃羅面前。此後又有戰爭，大衛出去與非利士人打仗。他大大擊敗他們，他們就在他面前逃跑。從耶和華來的邪靈又降在掃羅身上，掃羅手裏拿槍坐在屋裏，大衛正用手彈琴。掃羅想要用槍刺透大衛，把他釘在牆上，他卻躲開掃羅，掃羅的槍刺入牆內。當夜大衛逃走，躲起來了。掃羅派一些使者到大衛的房屋那裏守着他，等到天亮要殺他。大衛的妻子米甲對大衛說：「你今夜若不逃命，明日就要被殺。」

天哪，眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊！你們都要因她歡喜，因為神已經在她身上為你們伸了冤。」

看哪，古實人也來到，說：「有信息報給我主我王！耶和華今日為你伸冤，使你脫離一切起來攻擊你之人的手。」

說：「起來，帶着小孩子和他母親回以色列地去！因為要殺害這小孩子的人已經死了。」

大聲喊着說：「神聖真實的主宰啊，你不審判住在地上的人，為我們所流的血伸冤，要到幾時呢？」

但那些尋索要滅我命的人必往地底下去；他們必被刀劍所殺，成為野狗的食物。

這位神為我伸冤，使萬民服在我以下。

神的選民晝夜呼籲他，他豈會延遲不給他們伸冤嗎？我告訴你們，他很快就要給他們伸冤。然而，人子來的時候，能在世上找到這樣的信德嗎？」

我的舌頭也必終日講論你的公義，因為那些謀害我的人已經蒙羞受辱了。

大衛從拉瑪的拿約逃跑，來到約拿單面前，對他說：「我做了甚麼，有甚麼罪孽，在你父親面前犯了甚麼罪，他竟要尋索我的性命呢？」
