攜益破設首、至希伯崙、往見大闢、告曰、昔爾敵掃羅、欲害爾命、今日耶和華報我主我王之仇、害及其子、試觀益破設之首、已在於此。

攜伊施波設之首級、至希伯崙見大衛王、謂王曰、爾敵掃羅曾欲害爾命、此其子伊施波設之首級也、主今日為我主我王復仇在掃羅及其子之身、

They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ish- Bosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

They brought the head of Ish- Bosheth to King David at Hebron. They said to him,“ Here’s the head of Ish- Bosheth, the son of Saul. Saul was your enemy. He often tried to kill you. Today the Lord has paid back Saul and his family. He has let you get even with them. You are our king and master.”

and brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David at Hebron. And they said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ish-bosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life. The Lord has avenged my lord the king this day on Saul and on his offspring.”

When they arrived at Hebron, they presented Ishbosheth’s head to David.“ Look!” they exclaimed to the king.“ Here is the head of Ishbosheth, the son of your enemy Saul who tried to kill you. Today the Lord has given my lord the king revenge on Saul and his entire family!”

They brought Ish-bosheth’s head to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here’s the head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who intended to take your life. Today the LORD has granted vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

Then they brought the head of Ish bosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Behold, the head of Ish bosheth the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life; so the Lord has given my lord the king vengeance this day on Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king,“ Here is the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul your enemy, who sought your life; and the Lord has avenged my Lord the king this day of Saul and his descendants.”

And they brought the head of Ish- bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold, the head of Ish- bosheth, the son of Saul, thine enemy, who sought thy life; and Jehovah hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

They brought Ish-bosheth’s head to David at Hebron and said to the king,“ Here’s the head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who intended to take your life. Today the Lord has granted vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

And they brought the head of Ishbosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

They brought the head of Ishbosheth to David to Hebron, and said to the king,“ Behold, the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life! Yahweh has avenged my lord the king today of Saul, and of his offspring.”

雖有人起來追逼你、尋索你性命，我主的性命卻在永恆主你的上帝那裏包在活人的寶貝包裏；惟獨你仇敵的性命、永恆主卻要甩去，像在機弦窩中甩出去一樣。

大衛懼怕，因為掃羅出來尋索他的性命，那時大衛在西弗曠野何列沙那裏。

掃羅又打發差役去看大衛，說：『把他連褥子都抬上我這裏來，我好殺死他。』

跟隨大衛人的對大衛說：『永恆主曾對你說過：「看吧，我必將你的仇敵交在你手裏；你可以任意處置他」；看哪，今天就是那日子了。』大衛就起來，輕悄悄地割下掃羅外袍的衣邊。

掃羅把矛拿起來，心裏說：『我要刺透大衛，給釘在牆上。』大衛從掃羅面前躲避了兩次。

撒督的兒子亞希瑪斯說：『容我跑去，報消息給王知道永恆主已經維護了正義、而救王脫離仇敵的手。』

約拿單告訴大衛說：『我父親掃羅想法子要殺死你；所以明日早晨你要小心，留在一個隱密地方藏着；我呢、要出去，在你藏身的田野裏站在我父親旁邊，和他談論到你的事；我看看怎樣，便告訴你。』約拿單向他父親替大衛說好話，說：『王不可得罪王的僕人大衛；因為他未曾得罪了你；他所行的對於你都有極大好處。他冒險拚命擊殺了那非利士人，永恆主就向以色列眾人大行拯救；那時你看見，也很歡喜；現在你為甚麼要無緣無故殺死大衛，流無辜人的血、來犯罪呢？』掃羅聽了約拿單的話，就指着永活的永恆主來起誓，說：『他決不會被殺死的。』約拿單把大衛叫來；約拿單將這一切事告訴他；約拿單帶他去見掃羅；他就照常侍立在掃羅面前。此後又有戰事；大衛出去、和非利士人交戰，大大擊敗他們；他們就在他面前逃跑。從永恆主那裏來的惡靈臨到掃羅身上；（掃羅坐在屋裏，手裏拿着矛）大衛則手彈絃琴。掃羅想法子要用矛刺透大衛，給釘在牆上；大衛卻從掃羅面前溜走；掃羅把矛擊進牆內；大衛就逃走躲避了。那一夜掃羅打發差役到大衛的住宅去窺伺他，要在第二天早晨殺死他。大衛的妻子米甲對大衛說：『你今夜若不逃命，明日就會被殺死。』

天哪，聖眾使徒和神言人哪，因那城而歡躍吧！因為上帝已為你們伸雪而判罰她了。』

古實人也來到了，他說：『有消息報給我主我王知道：永恆主今天已經維護了正義、而救你脫離一切起來攻擊你的人的手了。』

『起來，帶着小孩子和他母親，往以色列地去；因為那些要尋索小孩子性命的人已經死了。』

他們大聲喊着說：『聖而真的主宰啊，你不審判、而向住在地上的人伸我們流血的冤、要等到幾時呢？』

但那尋索我命、要毁滅我命的人必往地府之最底處；他們必被交付於刀劍權下，被狼分喫。

就是那給我伸冤的上帝，那使萬族民都服於我以下，

上帝揀選的人晝夜向他喊救，他縱然在他們的事上延持着，難道總不給他們伸冤麼？我告訴你們，他總要快快地給他們伸冤的。然而人子來的時候，難道得見信心在地上麼？』

我的舌頭要終日不斷地表揚你的義氣。因為那些謀求要害我的已被挫折受辱了。

大衛從拉瑪的拿約逃跑而來，在約拿單面前說：『我作了甚麼？我有甚麼罪愆？在你父親面前我犯的甚麼罪，他竟尋索我性命呢？』
