But Abishai son of Zeruiah came to David’s rescue; he struck the Philistine down and killed him. Then David’s men swore to him, saying,“ Never again will you go out with us to battle, so that the lamp of Israel will not be extinguished.”

But Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, came to save David. He struck down the Philistine and killed him. Then David’s men made a promise. They said to David,“ We never want you to go out with us to battle again. You are the lamp of Israel’s kingdom. We want that lamp to keep on burning brightly.”

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid and attacked the Philistine and killed him. Then David’s men swore to him,“ You shall no longer go out with us to battle, lest you quench the lamp of Israel.”

大衛對亞比篩說：「現在比基利的兒子示巴對我們的危害比押沙龍更大。你帶著你主人的臣僕們追趕他，免得他找到堅固的城，從我們眼前逃脫了。」於是約押的部下、基利提人、比利提人以及所有的勇士就跟著亞比篩出發。他們從耶路撒冷出去，追趕比基利的兒子示巴。他們到了基遍的大磐石那裡，亞瑪撒來與他們會合。那時約押穿著戰袍，腰束佩刀帶，刀在鞘裡。約押上前時，刀掉了出來。約押對亞瑪撒說：「我的兄弟，你平安嗎？」約押用右手拉著亞瑪撒的鬍鬚，要親吻他。亞瑪撒沒有防備約押手中的刀，約押用那刀刺入他的腹部，他的內臟流在地上；都不用刺第二刀，他就死了。約押和他弟弟亞比篩繼續追趕比基利的兒子示巴。

耶和華啊，你是我的燈，耶和華照亮我的黑暗。

約翰是一盞燃燒發光的燈，你們情願在他的光裡快樂一時。

神是我們的避難所和力量，是患難中隨時可得的幫助，

他不是這光，而是要為這光做見證。這光是真光，來到這世界照亮每個人。

在我遭難的日子裡，他們攻擊我，但耶和華是我的依靠。

是你為君王們賜下拯救，是你救你僕人大衛脫離凶惡的刀劍！

看哪，全家族都起來攻擊婢女，說：『把那打死兄弟的人交出來，讓我們把他處死，抵償被殺的兄弟的性命。讓我們把這繼承人也除滅了！』他們這是要熄滅我的餘火，不讓我丈夫在這地上存留名字和餘種！」
