所有的勇士就动身，走了一整夜，把扫罗和他三个儿子的尸体从伯珊的城墙上取下来，带回雅比，在那里火化了。

你们要警醒，在信仰上当站立得稳，要做大丈夫，要刚强；

这些事以后，在异象中，耶和华的话语临到亚伯兰，说：“亚伯兰哪，你不要害怕！我是你的盾牌，你的赏报将极其大。”

那些在平原对面和约旦河对岸的以色列人，看到以色列人逃跑，并且扫罗和他儿子们死了，他们就弃城逃跑。于是非利士人来住在其中。

最后，你们要在主里藉着他力量的权能得以刚强。

非利士人哪，你们要坚强，要作大丈夫，免得你们服事希伯来人，就像他们曾服事你们一样。你们要作大丈夫，要战斗！”
