All my grandfather’s descendants deserved nothing but death from my lord the king, but you gave your servant a place among those who eat at your table. So what right do I have to make any more appeals to the king?”

The seven of them died together; they were put to death during harvest time– during the first days of the beginning of the barley harvest.

David said to him,“ Don’t be afraid, because I will certainly extend kindness to you for the sake of Jonathan your father. You will be a regular guest at my table.”Then Mephibosheth bowed and said,“ Of what importance am I, your servant, that you show regard for a dead dog like me?”
