David came to Mahanaim. Shobi, the son of Nahash, met him there. Shobi was from Rabbah in the land of Ammon. Makir, the son of Ammiel from Lo Debar, met him there too. So did Barzillai from Rogelim in the land of Gilead.

When David came to Mahanaim, Shobi the son of Nahash from Rabbah of the Ammonites, and Machir the son of Ammiel from Lo-debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite from Rogelim,

When David arrived at Mahanaim, he was warmly greeted by Shobi son of Nahash, who came from Rabbah of the Ammonites, and by Makir son of Ammiel from Lo debar, and by Barzillai of Gilead from Rogelim.

王对他说：“他在哪里？”洗巴对王说：“看哪，他在罗‧底巴，亚米利的儿子玛吉家里。”

你当恩待基列人巴西莱的众儿子，请他们常与你同席吃饭，因为我躲避你哥哥押沙龙的时候，他们亲近我。

祭司中，哈巴雅的子孙、哈哥斯的子孙、巴西莱的子孙，巴西莱因为娶了基列人巴西莱的女儿为妻，所以就以此为名。

亚扪人拿辖上来，对着基列的雅比安营。雅比众人对拿辖说：“你与我们立约，我们就服事你。”

约押攻打亚扪人的拉巴，攻占了京城。

于是大卫召集全军，往拉巴去攻城，就攻占了它。他也夺了米勒公头上所戴的冠冕，其上的金子重一他连得，又嵌着宝石。这冠冕就戴在大卫头上。大卫又从城里夺了许多财物，

基列人巴西莱从罗基琳下来，要护送王过约旦河，就跟王一同过约旦河。巴西莱年纪老迈，已经八十岁了。王住在玛哈念的时候，他拿食物来供给王，因他是个大富翁。王对巴西莱说：“你与我一同渡过去，我要在耶路撒冷我的身边奉养你。”巴西莱对王说：“我还能活多少年日，可以与王一同上耶路撒冷呢？今日我已八十岁了，还能辨别美丑吗？仆人还能尝出饮食的滋味吗？还能听男女歌唱的声音吗？仆人何必拖累我主我王呢？仆人护送王过约旦河只是一件小事，王何必用这样的赏赐来报答我呢？请让我回去，死在我本城，葬在我父母的墓旁。看哪，这里有金罕作王的仆人，让他同我主我王过去，你看怎样好，就怎样对待他吧。”王说：“金罕可以与我一同过去，我必照你看为好的待他。你要我做的，我都会为你做。”于是众百姓过了约旦河，王也过去了。王亲吻巴西莱，为他祝福，巴西莱就回自己的地方去了。
